Your basses always look twice as good 'cause of your pics... Fantastic.

Funny by the way: on the piece of paper about "Strings for the Lakland 5 String" it says it's best to use a taper core B-string, and that those strings are made to Lakland specs. However, on my 55-60 is a full core B-string...? My teacher also noticed that it doesn't properly touch the saddle.

Interesting... never owned a Lakland 5 sting set, other then JOs and they were full core too.

Weird. I still have 2 B-strings (.125 DR Hi Beam and .130 Ernie Ball) which are both full core. I guess I have no choice ;)

Our son's have similar taste. Mine has a 44-02 dlx and a MIM P. They must get there classy taste from their ole man's:D

He he he! Yeah...we are going bring the house down:-) Oh yes...for sure...he's been eyeballing my p basses and decade. He's not home from school yet, and his birthday was yesterday so this should be good!

Goblin was my avatar pic for a long time.... Markus mocked her up for me before I ever started putting her together. Dunn body, Aaron's Glaub neck, red tort guard, and Pat Wilkins painted the headstock too. We were, and still are proud of our creation. I'm really really happy that she'll be getting the attention she deserves.

They ship them with whatever is available. Looks like this last batch came from Indonesia with D'Addarios.

I got both and to me they sound completely different.
The LH-3 has more versatility, or better saying, more tonal changes when you fiddle with the controls. The goal with the LH-3 system was always to be the bass version of the Swiss Army knife. It does a much better job in emulating a Jazz tone and a MM tone than the Bartolinis.
The old Barts have their own sound. Very distant from the MM sound in my opinion. They are less aggressive and the preamp does not perform big changes in tone. That's why pretty much any combination of positions of the knobs is usable.
That's why I am having a hard time letting one of them go. They are fundamentally different and I have fun playing both.
