Funny how things work. Having had basses both incarnations of Barts and LH3, my preferences in order are: Old Barts, LH-3, New Barts. But as Denchiq says, it all depends on what's on your plate. I tend to use different basses for different tones. I have a P5 (flats) and (on Monday) a J5 (strings TBD) to do their specific tones so I like to let the 55-94 (Light Nickels) be what it is. The tone from the old Barts fits so well with the stuff we do. Our guitarist says that it's snappy when it needs to be and solid the rest of time.
