Yeah she sure turned out awesome! Mockups sure help, but to see it in person...wow!

I told ya! Goblin was easily the sexiest bass I've ever owned! Hope you can keep an eye on your son cause the ladies will be..... well.... you know ;-D.

I'm a believer now in the LH pups and pre! I can easily get a P and jazz outta the 44, I'm still tweaking the Stingray sound, but it was close enough that the other band members gave it the nod of approval.

Still love the "old Bart" sound too, but it's another sound altogether.

Yup! It actually almost looked good on the black,...but,..only almost. If i redo it, I may go one shade lighter on the tint, will try to post a pic of it manana.

maybe it was mine...the pickguard has been around TB for a while! I would really like to see pics!

It's developed some weird short in the preamp that kills amplifiers. I started getting these strange volume changes while playing, like I was cutting in and out quickly. I thought it must be the amp and took it to the shop.

At the next practice I used the drummers bass amp as the backup. As soon as I plugged in, it would turn the amp off. I could play my Fender through it. But not the Lakland. I told the amp tech that. He opened the amp up and found several scorched components on the front end. He fixed them and I've got the amp back.

But when I described this here, folks just said they'd never heard of that symptom and to change the battery.

Changing the battery didn't help. It still turns the amp off.

It looks like a major short somewhere in the preamp.

Did you contact Carl? I know we recommended this in the past...if ANYONE can trouble shoot it...he can!

I saw my name on some list back there, so I best fess up... the before picture is my avatar, the after picture..... this is my "to the grave" bass.... ( not a great pic, and the mint guard will get changed out to??? black maybe) may I present, fresh from Pat Wilkins' shop for a new suit, "Blood" , my main player.

Oh, if it works, you may need a partner to hold the neck in place while you tighten the bolts.

Just picked up a Skyline Bob Glaub from a TB'er here in the Classifieds. Love it. Action was good straight out of the case, and can really get a variety of tones just by changing right-hand position. I have been wanting a P for a while, and this one fits the bill perfectly.

Hey JJ and basspraiser I just stopped at my local shop and did a comparison with my 1999 "all Bart" 55-94 and a brand new one.

Without a doubt the bass with the LH-3/Hanson pups has more of a bell like sound to it.....more of a piano ring to it. It sounded cleaner, more natural, more open sounding, less dark and less compressed. If I played with a hard attack the notes seemed to jump out quicker and punchier with the new system where the Bart's kind of just sounded sort of slow and smooth. Also when I just used the bridge pickup the new system seemed less nasaly.

I know a lot of guys out there like the Bart set up but in my humble opinion the LH-3/Hanson set up is the way to go....at least for me anyway.

Very nice. What are your settings for the P sound? I usually run my 55-02 flat, because it just sounds so dang good that way, but I'm very curious to hear how you do your Precision tone

Very nice. What are your settings for the P sound? I usually run my 55-02 flat, because it just sounds so dang good that way, but I'm very curious to hear how you do your Precision tone

I'm not sure what the mid switches are set at, but just soloing the neck pickup and turning down the treble (my new Carvin LS1503s are super bright) sounded very P bassish to me.

Are you sure the LH3 bass didn't just have better strings???

JJ strings on the new 55-94 were a bit newer but not by much. I know what you're saying but I don't think that had anything to do with it (although maybe it did....LOL).

I haven't read all of your priors but do you disagree about the difference in tone between the Barts and the new stuff?

I am pleased to announce that I'm lucky enough to be the proud new owner of this Lakland 55-94 in Tealburst...

May I join the LOG?

I recently got this - built in 1997, NOS condition. In this pic it looks very blue, but it is teal. What can I say: it plays itself and sounds amazing. I recently also had a shoreline gold, 2010, 55-94, but sadly I could not get the action as low as I wanted it, unlike this one here that has the lowest action in the planet.

Dude! It looks awesome. But why remove the J pickup, and why go through the trouble of switching bodies to do it?
