You're killing me, here... Put one more string on that and I'd on a plane with some evil intentions right the hell now.

Thanks dudes!!

Here we go. Emac, I believe this was yours...

Yea... that was mine. Best sounding p-bass I had (until tomorrow hopefully), and I'm a fool for getting rid of it. Though, I could say that about so many basses I've had and sold.

The black/tort/rosewood look is awesome and I'm sure your bass sounds fantastic. What pickup is in there?

Hey there,

I have had this Lakland Skyline 55-60 Custom for awhile now...finally got around to taking a couple of pics....as crappy as they may be (some mad photographical skills goin' on in the Lakland club...wow!) As I have seen posted here a few times, look out, one Lakland leads to many more...luckily they are a lilttle harder to come by in Canada...would love a Pre-style Lakie...

On that note, if a dude wanted a Lakland Skyline 44-64 custom...in a color OTHER than red (I am wanting natural mostly...but a sunburst would work too) do I have no choice but to get the US model?? It would appear so...I may end up STILL getting the Skyline and having it painted or refinished..that is too big a leap for a US model that will essentially be a backup...I really love the 55-60...very comfy and fun to play and sounds great...

Can you hook a Canadian up with a # ?? Or is this a "no skylines" club??

Cheers!

I'm drooling over that bass. If Lakland had a 54-60 Custom (34" neck) Skyline, I would be alllll over that. One of the nicest Skylines I've seen right there.

Are all the 35" B strings on the different models equally as big and resonant? I have only owned 55-02's?

I think pickups play a part in the sound of the B, single coil Js compared to humbuckers for instance. But, 35" scale helps immensely IMO, others will disagree. I should say though, that the typical listener won't be able to tell a 34" B from a 35". So, I now have a BEAD tuned 34" Decade and I love it!

Pat just finished putting color on my JoBo5. Way custom, as I've only seen the shade on a 1967 ProStreet ElCamino, and a 1970 Challenger. Sure hope it looks good on a maple-necked Lakland jazz bass! I'll post pics to see if y'all agree or.... not!

BBN, no George Jr. is just CLOSE to God. :bassist:

BTW, I dont know how the new CS pups are, but the JoBo got AERO T1s soon after I bought it from Dan. Thought AERO was joshing me when they said it would bring out its maple/ash natural sound more.

Yeah MAN they did! And a much clearer and deeper lower fundamental. It really sounds good. Passive.

I sense a Plumb Crazy! JoBo5 being delivered in the near future...

I dont want to be a Jerk or anything...I dont want to be like the english guy simon from american idol. But I was hoping to see some cool looking basses, yes I seen one from a Qwench. But the rest of these Lakland bass's look like crap, whats the story??? Do they just look bad and sound good?. IM being serious, I want to love them but they look horrible!!!....sorry, I was just disappointed thats all.

It would be much more helpful if you actually stated what about them that looks so awful. Obviously you don't like the bridge.... what else??? You must just have a hatred toward "classic" looking instruments. Which is fine, I don't like every bass I see either. Play what you like. We'll play the rest!

"look like crap" is subjective. You like Spectors and a trimmed down, modern design. That's not Lakland. These are based more on the old ernie ball and fender models.
