That is a Skyline too, but with ChiSonics and Stacked knobs.
Does anyone know what happened to the 44-75? Is Lakland still going to make it?
Not positive, but pretty sure the AJ is what they are using to fill that area.
Really! I took a quick look and saw the stacked knobs and thought it was a U.S. I was very impressed with the finish on mine, that trans white is impossible to do justice with a photo though. I have only had mine a couple weeks so far. I really want to try the stacked knobs, I have never used that layout before but thought it would be more flexible than the traditional single tone circuit. How would you compare the two? I may make the switch one day.. The only thing I did not like about mine was the licensed Hipshot tuners - they were just not as smooth as I like. I already ordered some US hipshot ultralights and an extender. In today actually. Congrats!

I did not order "Lakland" Hipshots, just Hipshot ultralights made in US. (which honestly I think is the same thing). Anyway, because of the extender I did check with Lakland first to check if they would fit. I'll know tomorrow.
The diff between the Groove Regulator and GR2 doesn't seem to be all that huge. the GR2 has a wet/dry control. That kinda seems to be it.
I've been keeping an eye out on the classifieds, btu people seem to love their GRs

Sigh... Imperial gives me hives. Let me know if the tuners you ordered work. I find the tuners on my Skyline to be a little underwhelming.

The problem is not with the tuners, but the bushings. The holes in a Skyline are slightly smaller. You have two options: reuse the Skyline bushings or get Hipshot to send you the metric bushings.
But in all fairness, the Lic tuners are just as good as the US ones. Plus the tapered shafts actually make them look better. I talked to Bill at Hipshot once about that, and asked if there was any reason for an upgrade. He said: "only if you have problems with them".
A question for all you early model DJ owners. I'm taking my DJ5 back to passive with Aero's , since that is the original sound I fell in love with from the early DJ series.
Does anyone know if Lakland did anything "special" or "magic" with the passive harness, or was it just regular 250k pots with a .047 cap? Thanks in advance.
BTW Macri, I'll snap some pics of the DJ today with the j retro deluxe pre and plate on the bass so you can see what it looks like without the curved lakie plate. Didn't forget about ya,...just been busy!

Quick setup question for you guys. Not sure which course to take here...
I have a Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones 4-string.
Whenever I play slap bass, the G,D,and A strings sound amazing, but the E string makes the most awful bang and then loses all sustain. It's clearly hitting something, probably the pickup polepieces. However, I've checked the setup guide on the Lakland website and the pickups are at the recommended height. Neck relief is okay too, and as far as I can see, so is the string saddle height. It is, however, only one string, so it must be a setup issue.
There are no problems at all whenever I play fingerstyle or with a pick.
Anybody have any ideas where I should start?

Yeah, the retro sounds great,...but,.....my last gig I went passive for the last set and think it actually sounded better.
I'm thinking of going v/v/t/t and keep the side mount jack. Going to try it with the nordys that are loaded in the bass first, if that still doesn't trip my trigger, will PM ya about the aero's. Appreciate it!
Received the Skyline 44-02 Deluxe I bought used here on talkbass. To say I'm impressed would be a massive understatement. The seller gave a very accurate description of it, and on top of that the tone and comfort are beyond what I expected once again.
