I REALLY wanted the one with the RW fretboard (and I am NOT a spalt top guy...but this one caught my fancy for some reason)...but could not come up with the cash...it got sold to a dealer....damn!

Wow. I'd have gone for the RW one as well. Too bad you missed out on that one.

played my new 44-64 custom last night. i have to say, this is the best sounding p bass i have ever heard, or played. it has the neo punch p/u in it. it is very punchy. thank you lakland!!

I have one of that bass's 5-string sisters.

Mine's one of the newer Indo ones. The Korean ones were rarer because the first Amers were a limited run.

Yours is beautiful. I tried a Lakland 5 - I couldn't reach the B string once I got above the 5th fret.

The guys at BC told me that amber has been DC'd as a color option on the Skyline series, too, so I think they'll be even more special now. Mine says this on the back of the headstock:

"Designed in Chicago, USA. Crafted in Korea."

It was accompanied by a hangtag that says Plek'd in Chicago.

Anyway it goes, this little baby is a stunner. I can't put it down - the sound just begs you to keep playing.

Welcome, Tat! Now you're low, loud, Lakland, and proud. :)
It's a great group of folks here in Lakland land...there are fewer spoons, though. :ninja:

As soon as they issue me a number, I'll get right on changing that sig to EXACTLY that! Thanks for the welcome.

Maybe Tat's going to help change that.

You bet I am....

Coming soon - to a forum near you -

SPOONS!!!!!

Wait...which is above and which is below? I might be backward. Again. :hmm: LOL.

As the fret numbers get bigger, I have more trouble reaching the top strings. There. How's that? ;)

No, we're talking about the same area. I play what would be an open E on fret 5 of the B string and take it from there. I almost never go down past the 5th fret, but play most of my stuf in the middle of the fretboard.

It seems that we have variations on the same problem: I have a hard time with the stretch across the first 5 frets, you have problems with the stretch across the fretboard to get to the B string.

Weird...
