Yupper...here are two:

I REALLY wanted the one with the RW fretboard (and I am NOT a spalt top guy...but this one caught my fancy for some reason)...but could not come up with the cash...it got sold to a dealer....damn!

Btw, anyone ever seen a spalty 55-94? Now that my NYC Sadowsky is actually being built, I'm just musing about what my next spendy bass might be, provided I can get the budget approved by the household CFO...

sacrilege!!!

you are now banned from the LOG!

J/K of course.....nice to see that perfection gets copied....

Matt (Mr. Matt) has/ahad a 44-94 PJ in shoreline gold....I would have wanted it if it had 5 strngs.....was/is a sweet bass!

I was cruising around today, and happened upon this: Valenti NEWS. So, if you want spalt, 18mm/34, whatever...you can still get the MM/J + LH3 tone that you know and love. You just get a strange looking headstock. :)

I'm wanting to go the opposite: 55-02 body with Nordy P/J and Mike Pope's pre. I guess a trip to the second city to steal a body blank and rosewood neck out of the warehouse is in order (kidding of course!)

It's kinda sad that someone else has to make the 34" Lakland 5 string...

From experience, I can tell you that Nordstrand P/J's in a 55 series body don't need no steenking pre-amp (not that the Mike Pope Preamp stinks by any means. it's awesome!). If you're gonna do a re-route, consider getting a 55-01. It's the same body as the 55-02, but a Nordy BigSplit or BigSingle (or FatStack if you're going active) will drop right in that back rout....

Got that covered. I picked up a 55-01 with nordy dual coils over the summer. I love how it sounds, so it is staying as is.

I guess the point of my Valenti post was that it was the first time I have seen another builder promote the mm/j - lh3 package as something for their basses. That is only a good thing for Hanson's business. If noting it gets me banned from the LOG, so be it. Doesn't mean I'm selling my 3 lovely Lakies. (attention....lack of emoticons notwithstanding, I'm just having fun with y'all...a week at the beach on vacation has inspired a little rabble-rousing!)

I SAID JK!!!!

no issues...really...I was just "funning with ya!"

I agree...great for Hanson....

carry on.....:D

Pfff, I had a gig with NONA yesterday and I exclusively used my Lakland 55-60 for the first time. Man, was I happy! My vintage Fender sounds great for many purposes, but for the big rock sound we need with NONA, the Lakland is absolutely perfect! I think I've found my new main bass for that band...

Not from that gig, but cool nonetheless:
