2012 will be quite a year for the LOG!!!

I have been trying to post in the LOG forums more but it still acts very slow for me and I get frustrated with slowness easily. I will update my supporting status soon though.

you sir have a modded Skyline (most likely!)

The cool thing is that you really cannot tell...Skyline quality is THAT good!

I love the V/T V/T control! have that on my US JO5CS....WANT it on my JO5fretless and my US PJ!!!

just have not goten around to doing it yet....may be tougher on my PJ since it has a side jack.....darn it!

may just hjave to slip an East pre-amp into it.....

I just picked up a Lakland Skyline Joe Osborn 4, and I'm curious about something related to the controls.

According to the Lakland site, the Skyline 44-60 (which I assume has same specs as Joe Osborn) has controls that are Volume/Volume/Tone, while the US made has Passive Model Concentric (Stacked Knobs) Volume/Tone-Volume/Tone.

Mine, though, has Passive Model Concentric (Stacked Knobs) Volume/Tone-Volume/Tone.

The neck is clearly Skyline, with the optional hipshot-D tuner.

So should I assume that mine is a Skyline modified with stacked knobs? Or is it possibly a US-made body with a Skyline neck?

Aside from detaching the neck from the body, is there any way to determine if it's US-made, Skyline, or something else altogether?

It certainly plays, feels and sounds like a Lakland. My guess, as of now, is that it was simply modified.

Yes, I can ask the owner (who is not on TB, as far as I know). But I'd like to see what the Lakland experts here think, first.

I have done a seach and have come up empty so far. I was looking at purchasing a trans white Skyline 44-60, but am not too keen on the tort pickguard. I was wondereing if it could be run sans pickguard and still look OK, or is their some funky routing going on underneath?

Did not take much time.
I already scouted 3 decades before this first one even showed up...hahaha!! All lined up, just waiting to decide which basses I am letting go of to fund the Decade purchase.

I cannot wait to add Lakland number 2 to the collection!
These are truly impressive times ten! :hyper:

No not really...I mean this 44-07 is a pair of humbuckers.
Their are two single coil chi decades and one dual dark star.
The dark star will demand a bit more cha ching.
Leaning towards one of the single coil chis mostly based on price honestly.
Then maybe watch out for a single or double dark star down the road most likely.

markus, you know these things I think - is that inca silver? It looks a little too deep compared to the LE skylines they did a couple of years back...?
