Nah... Not much of a 'P' man. I took a big hit on shipping the HB, so I've only got about $800 to spend. Maybe a 55-02 to share the job of my 55-01...

Bummer on the shipping hit..
I am getting sick of that myself.
All this shipping included stuff has been killing me.
I pack the heck out of my shipping boxes and use heavy duty boxes..
Always seems my buyers are like 2,000 - 3000 miles away.

Thinking I might HAVE to start selling at a set price with shipping to be determined by buyers location in the US. And paid on their dime.

Well if that's how you feel, can I have my shipping money back from the bass you bought from me? JK ;) Seriously I really am kidding, unfortunately it's just become part of selling here on TB.

Yeah, I prefer priority shipping, and the oversized hard case for the HB put me at $75 to send it cross-country.

Oh well... Hey, too bad the Scheff is gone (well, for me at least); I would've snapped it up in a heartbeat. Of course, you'd have to ship it across country :ninja:

"priority shipping"? As in what method? 2 day air?
I know shipping a bass well packed UPS ground to cali or colorado or washington state is running me around $70-$75 insured for $1,400 average. I am about to ship my Reflex to Waaayyy up in northern Washington state tomorrow.
The box I used it insanely heavy duty. and VERY over stuffed.
Bet this one tops $80-$85.00?

Yeah lucked out on the Scheff...buyer is only 2.5 hours downstate in NY...YAY :hyper:

Some of you know I have a Mike Pope FlexCore pre in my 55-01.

I gather the frequencies are selectable on each of the tone stages.

According to Mike Pope in a post in this thread, the frequency centers are:

  • Bass +/- 12dB @ 46Hz or 90Hz
  • Lo Mid +/-12dB @ 330Hz or 473Hz
  • Hi Mid +/- 15dB @ 1kHz or 1.8kHz
  • Treble +/- 15dB @ 6kHz or 10kHz
  • Gain pot : 12dB

Care to share what frequencies you found to work best on the 55-01 ? Or did you make the choice available as switches on the front ?

Andy

My incoming DJ5 is currently on a nearly 9000 mile FedEx Odyssey...

That blows me away. Read how they messed up on shipping it back and forth.
Sorry man, that is the pits! :scowl:
Recently the USPS lost "OVERNIGHT" letter packs sent by me to a seller of a bass with bank check. And then a week later lost an "overnight" letter pack with a money order from a buyer of a bass to me.
Eventually they were both found and eventually delivered days later.

I think I will stick to UPS at this point. :hmm:

Well...USPS...how can you trust the government to do anything right:rollno:

UPS delivered the last three items coming to me to the wrong place despite the address being right. When I finally got one of them to my house the guitar inside had been removed and only the empty case remained. I will never deal with UPS again. FedEx is way cheaper and generally more reliable.

YIKES!!!!????
My god man.
Sounds like you need hire an army of carrier Pigeons to fly your gear to and fro....dayummm.

Fed Ex cheaper huh?
I have 2 basses and one guitar shipping out to buyers today.
Was going to use UPS as always.
Hub is close to my house.
Fed Ex is a bit of a haul.
But now ya have me thinking? :eyebrow:
