Well, I *did* notice you were awaiting something new and sunbursty...
I'm really behind on my TB calling out these days. The 7-month-old is taking up a *lot* of my time... I sometimes come on via my iPhone (like im doing now), but I don't have the patience to scan through the pages so much on this tiny screen.
Will do. I'm surprised that they weren't more popular around TB. The red I'm not sure about but the charcoal I saw in person is much more subdued than it looks in online pictures.
Sound wise I'll just record some stuff straight in and you can judge for yourself. I haven't heard a bad sounding Lakland ever.
Yeah. I thought the DJ-5 was going to be my next Lakland. I was in denial.I finally got to check out a 55-64 last month, and loved it. Now, it's mine.

My first new Lakland. If they had made the 5'ers in black, I would have hunted one of them down. May have Pat W paint it to match my 55-02 fretless, but that can wait, as the 3TB is growing on me. Flats and a setup, and then we'll see how it plays for real.
The wait for the DJ continues...not long now.
Well in the end I decided to keep the Fender and just get a Jazz neck for it, tone won out over brand.![]()
MAN!!! that was quick!!!!
you know...you are going to be in the lead post-wise this month me thinks......especially since Markus appears to be on hiatus!!!

Hi, My Skyline 5 'blondie' volume control pot shaft has pulled out of the pot.
It will go back in and works--turns the volume up and down--but it will fall out if the bass is tilted over.
I don't want to lose the shaft and knob so I need a new pot I suppose.
This is the one that you pull up on the knob to bypass active and play in passive mode--which I never do anyway.
Wonder if I can just wire some of the wires together and just use a more commonly found pot and just leave it in active mode all the time.
There are a bunch of wires coming to this pot.
Here is my Lakland -- How do I get a #? BTW please.
Lakland Skyline 5 55-01 vol pot replacement
Who would have thought---
I already got a reply from Brian at Lakland.
Just expected a response during the work week.
Their part is $20.00 including postage.
The pots on bestbassgear.com are $9 and $12 free shipping.
so the replacement from Lakland is a reasonable price it seems.
I bet if I can find my soldering iron I can even DIY -- Haa
Or worth the bucks to have it done too I am sure in case I screw it up worse.
It's a pretty easy swap. But if you have any doubt it may be best to have a tech do it.
By the way, is anyone waiting on one of these?

I'd love to see one in person.
I will have pictures tomorrow from Leo.
I will be sure to post them

New here, would like to join the Lakland Group...
This is my 55-69. I remember that ShowKing has the same model....

I was so delighted when the bass arrived so I made a "promo" video for it.

I'm also glad that someone has decided to get one after watching the clip...
PM basspraiser for a #. Welcome. Just don't expect us to convince you that one in enough.![]()
Dadgummet!!! Gadjammitt!!!
WHY THE BLASTED ROSEWOOD!!! MAPLE SOUNDS BETTER........EVERYONE ON TB AGREES AND PREFERS MAPLE 10 to 1 RIGHT????
Tobacco burst IS stunning though!
nice grooves Nat. I didn't listent to the lyrics, so my virgin ears are still ok.

but you JUST WAIT! somehtign acomin' that will srurpise all...
as far as boards go...
Now that is sweet! Much better look, IMHO, than the quilted maple bursts Lakland offers. I'm considering the transition to a 5-er, and in its price range the 55-02 has so far been my favorite. (Unless I want to cough up an additional 2 g's to get a bass I shall not name here.)
Bottom center: Tobacco burst on my beloved 55-94... to the right is a Sky (US assembly by Carl and perfected---long story about a phenomenal bass!!) 55-02 fretless in 3TSB for comparison.

Caught her sun-bathing nude, she can be so BAD!!
Me too, but she never got used, and never would have, for what I do. I tried, but I would've needed to mod her and that would've been blasphemy.
Tell me, does anyone know if those STUNNING flame-top 44/55-02s will be avaliable as a fretless? I've never been entirely clear on the options list for the limited edition basses...never seen a chi-sonic LE lakland either, now I come to think about it...
It would require delving into the future-house fund to get it, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. You're only young and stupid once, eh?!
Cheers, SoundSupport
WARNING: Laklands are like potato chips, you can't just have one.
Maybe they should be called "Lays'Land?
But potato chips never looked so good![]()
Oh brother!

A few of those necks seem to come from a pretty rosy species of maple.
They are beauties....
There it sits, across the river in St. Paul until tomorrow. I hate waiting for stuff.

Like the sig Texan. You're like "the most interesting bass player in the world".
It better be here tomorrow. My life depends on it.
I got such a good deal on it "Thanks Bass Emporium" that I might be able to keep my 44-02.
That's what she said!
I promise that will be the first and last time I post that phrase
You think? I think Mr. F still has quite a lead on me.![]()
