I've often wondered if Lakland would do a "494HH" as opposed to their HS config.

Dual coil tap of course!

They made a very limited edition run of US 44-07's.
My 44-07 has Dual ChiSonic Humbuckers 4HH Active.

Well, about 90 posts back, the doude asked a question.
The new 55-64 is a 2011 Skyline, so I am going to guess Hanson on the pup. It sounds really nice. Now I just have to keep it passive. This one and the inbound DJ are going to stay that way...for a while, at least.

If you order it, they'll build it . This was considered a Decade precursor though, even though it had a 55 shaped body.

Speaking of necks, I have a late 2002 US Glaub PJ. To me, this bass, with the thinner J neck, has a "flatter" neck radius than my Fender Jazz basses. (I'm sure there's a more technical term...)

Do the US and Skyline Joe Osborn's have a similarly flatter neck radius like this BG PJ?

I've been eyeing those Skyline JO's with the block inlays...like I can really afford another bass right now.

Ahhh rescued your lost post from a treetop after the tsunami I presume. Many a post is washed away never to be quoted or replied too..... sad sad situation.

Are you saying that you have a US Glaub w/ an Osborne neck (jazz neck w/ 1.5" nut width)??

And the radius you talk of.... are you referring to the curve across the fretboard (E to G string)? Or were you referring to the neck's thickness front (fretboard) to back (where your thumb rests)?

I've had some Korean Skyline Glaubs and I noticed a flatter radius fretboard than what I expected and have seen on other US Laklands (not Glaubs). I've also noticed that the neck width at the heel was skinnier on Korean Skys than US basses. The frets are slightly different but very close in size also. BUT, I did NOT feel that Sky necks were thicker front to back.... thickness felt the same as US models.

I'd call Lakland and clarify any size, radius, etc differences vs the US basses, if it's a serious concern.

Would these size differences have to do with metric and US measurement systems? I know you would see this descrepancy with fret wire sizes between US and Skyline versions.

well...as for the pickups, there was a choice:

Hanson Neos
Hanson Vintage
Nordy (maybe only on the LOG bass)

that is why I ask...
