Matt, someone copied and pasted some of the text in an earlier post here; I Googled it last night, it's on Gbase. (Sorry, don't have the link now.) It's at Rockin' Robin.
I think we had fun though.
MAYBE!I hear ya on all the above.
I would think this bass is like anything.
It is worth whatever someone will pay for it.
Sure there is someone out there someplace who will pay asking price.
But if they want to increase their odds of finding a buyer they should come down on it to well under $3,000.00 IMO.
But who knows? Someone could buy it tomorrow for asking price. Stranger things for sure have happened.![]()
I assure you that will not be me. I may be nuts, but I'm not crazy!
That's all kinds of awesome!

I'd pay $1900, but I'm sure someone will pay $3600. The '51 proto P that I had bought new sold to it's third owner overseas for twice what I paid for it.

Ah, well that certainly changes the game quite a bit. Although I again agree with Dan, the seller will have a much easier time offloading the second neck separately. Only a few weirdos like Doug want two necks for the same bass.![]()
Ha ha ha hai ai ai...
Doude: It will come SOME day...one out this year....one just going in...and one in college in about 8 years....I will be forever broke!
But then I wouldn't have any good hooch!
Doude: I agree.....good hooch is pretty reasonable compared to a Lakie or a Sadowsky......

Its all about making you feel good Brian! I would do it here as well BUT fior some reason I cannot add anything to my signature...it keeps coming back with "errors" saying I have too many characters...I do not !
However, there ARE too many characters here....and (wait for it)......
THEY ALL PLAY LAKLANDS!!!![]()
you SURE about that???![]()
"super deluxe hardshell white case"
'isn't it the same as all of the Lakie basses?if there is anyone in the NYC or Rockland, Westchester, Orange County area that has a Lakland 55-94 that would be willing to let me come over and try it i would be forever grateful. i would bring my 55-02's fretted and fretless so we both could see and feel the difference. i would even bring my promethean 5210 amp with me. i really want to try out an American Lakland before plucking down such a large investment to really see if in my opinion they are worth the extra cost but i just cant find a 55-94 in the tri-state area, Leo even looked up dealer inventory for me and nothing ;-(. so if you would be willing to help a fellow Lakland lover i would be forever grateful.
Peace
Dave
huh???'isn't it the same as all of the Lakie basses?
where is this one listed? I have not seen it yet.
Nor does it state the s/n of both necks are identical - "fretted neck also serialed to the bass" that could simply mean the s/n on that neck is merely documented to be with that bass model?.
I find it best not to read too much into any ad and avoid any surprises. A better approach would be to simply ask the seller via PM or email what all is included for the $3,500 or $3,600 discounted price.
If you start playing with the price from the original $4,000, things seem to slowly disappear if not documented and made clear.
Funny how this mystery bass has taken up two pages of Deliberation and I bet none of us buy it.....hahaha!!![]()
Seriously, has anyone actually seen the ad? That seems to be missing in all these posts as well.
Yeah, rare bass, super-vague ad and high price leads to lots of speculation.
Trying to "time the market" to sell some to finance my daughter's college.....frustrating! Her account is already so far down it is pittiful...oh well...I digress....let's come back to "Fantasy island"...I sent them an email to see if they can give more information. Not because I am interested but just for the sake of conversation. I will post the info here so if anyone else is thinking of doing the same you don't need to bother them. If they get 10 emails in one day about the bass they may think they have it priced too low.![]()
I got no information because they said it was sold.
how i can be part of theese ?

That would have been me, the guy that started the whole thingI think we had fun though.
Now you're just being silwy.
I'm not sure, let me ask... what's that? Oh, okay. Nope, according to my other personality I'm completely sane.
hmm.....wonder who and for how much......teh person could have gotten a new one for that!
Dan da man....watch the mailbox...not $3,600 but something just as nice....MAYBE!
NO - not the "big" lotto ticket....

wheeeeee.....just like a ride at Great America!!!

basspraiser said:ALL kinds of crazies out there JJ!!! ALL kinds....'cept the second buyer made all the cash! maybe he was smart.....![]()
