.....well as for me the only basses I would consider spending that kinda coin on would be a F&ND&R P from my birth year (way pre CBS) "just to have one".....but I keep thinking they really are not worth what they sell for...never played a 64P but have played some late 60s and some mid 60s j basses....
Dunno....I would want one in "closet condition" and besides being impossible to find I would have to spend a years worth of college tuition for one....
I could buy many Laklands or maybe a used convertible instead.....

BTW..long day traveling...began the day getting picked up at 6 AM in san fran and just got to cinncy after over a 5 hour drive...overall 13 hours of travel.......oh well!
G'night all

Wow - I need to hang around with you more often. You make excuses for me so I don't have to! I love this little clan - you guys are so awesome to me!

We are a traveling bunch aren't we? You're doing Denver to Dallas, BP is in Cincy now, and I'm Toronto bound at the end of the week from Orlando.

Oh this is nothing... I'm here on a "train-cation" and lived here from 92 until 2 years ago... This is the first business travel for me in 9 months This time last year I was on the road 3 weeks out of the month, and had been a bag hag for the previous 4 years. There's not a podunk town in TX, NM, OK that I haven't at least driven through!

I don't travel so much now either, but I used to live out 4-6 weeks at a time. Upside - I got to go pretty much anywhere on the continent. Downside - I didn't spend very long in any one place. But I appreciate all the awesome places I've been and can't wait to go back to visit.

I'm not going anywheres but hospitals and doctors, so I'll just live vicariously thru you people. But, the doc has ok'd our planned cruise in June, one week in South Carribean out of San Juan. A definite reward for fighting this bitch cancer.

The cruise sounds like an awesome trip. And you're definitely deserving of the reward. My sister is currently doing the treatment thing. She had surgery and reconstruction a couple of weeks ago and is doing the chemo now. It's a hard battle - and I wish you the best and a great time on your cruise.

I loved that Ritter. The Manne Glen Hughes was pretty nice, too. Does he still have the Manne in stock?
I'm not sure, I was in there a couple weeks ago for a quick visit but I didn't know about the Manne.

Orlando, eh? Whereabouts? I'm a Florida native (Miami/Ft. Lauderdale) and spent 18 months in Orlando in the early 90s. I haven't been back in years, but I will definitely go to Bass Central next time.

I live out by Disney - Davenport area. My office is near Florida Mall on the Southwest side of the city. It's about 35-40 minutes door to door for me, but well worth it when I make the trip. They're good people up there. Last trip to the shop, FM and I had them in stitches and we got to meet Dave - he was coming in as we were packing up. Nice guys - all of them. Definitely sweethearts for helping us pick the right basses to grope and touch and fondle.... :D

Ah yes, I know the Florida Mall. My ex and I lived out in Winter Garden (or as it was sometimes referred to, Winter Garbage :D); I commuted to Maitland and she to Altamonte Springs--hated those drives.

Heh, I bet they didn't mind watching.;) Yeah, the store seems to have a pretty amazing inventory (though Bass Club is great in its own right). I have relatives in Oviedo and my girlfriend's never been to Disney, so I expect we'll make it there sooner rather than later.

When you get down this way, give a shout and I'll open up a space in the schedule for a drink or coffee. Same invite goes out to all of the LOG members.

Hey Lakland brethren... One of the bands I play with is doing 2 shows this week in the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area in NC. Thursday nite we are at The Hibernian in Raleigh. Friday we are at Kildare's in Chapel Hill. Perhaps some Laklanders would be interested in checking out a show or two if you're in the area?

Also, we're trying to figure out some inexpensive but clean/safe lodging options in the Raleigh area for an overnight stay after the gig. If you are familiar with the area and have some suggestions, feel free to PM me.

Here's the band if you want to check us out - sort of Bluegrass/Jazz/Rock fusion, and we have a great relationship with the Americana/Jam scene as well:
