Of the four Laklands I played, this is the one that gave me the highest WP-Factor, so she's the one I wasn't leaving without. Of the other three, one other had the maple fretboard and the other two were rosewood, I think. It all came down to the sound though (and the WP points).

Thank you. Although it wasn't my first choice for color, the sound more than compensates and the color has grown on me quite seriously. This little baby won't be leaving my collection anytime soon.

OK...what did I miss? what is WP???

I have a Micheal Kelly with a very similar quilt....eally purty! I remember seeing pictures of your acoustic...is that a Kelly as well?

LOVE the Amber quilt...actually, I heavily suggested that Dan do that color for a Skyline run....I also owned one of the first Amber quilted skylines.....sold it a while ago and miss it....but alas, basses move on....

seems to have a more "cone" shape with the white marker raised and pointed.
anyone know anything more? just thought i'd share my observation.
also notice the bridge springs on the 55-69 tetsuyas.
the new ones aren't black springs anymore.
also for your interest, that's a fretless birdseye maple 55-69!

dunno about the knobs...maybe the supplier changes the specs but a fretless 55-69? I bet it sounds really cool!

ahhh.....really? Markus Orange is "transparent orange"...Amber is a color all its own....I personally like amber better...kind of a comparison of organge versus caramel...

Stock tuners work fine, necks are among my favorites to play.... finish feels fine to me. 70s P p'up sounds as it should, but like I said, Lakland pups are superior in my opinion.

don't like Geddy's for the same reaon! I have issues with both Geddy's and Macus Miller basses exactly for that reason...

The 2002 BGs are "darn near" US basses...newer ones are nice as well but the 2002 ones seem to be "closer" to US feel than others!

I had a 2002 that I took into Carl to have him convert to a PJ and he thought it was a US before seeing the Skyine moniker.

My LOG bass plays and feels GREAT when compared to my US BG PJ.

used BGs seem to come on the market in spurts....and the "spurts" seem to be far between!

you may have better luck finding a new Skyline...

if you want "older tone" go for a fralin or a Hanson "vintage"...I have a vintage in my LOG bass and I love the vintage tone.....missed my Fralin (in the 2002) and the Hanson Vintage gave it back to me.

I didn't like it at all, so I quickly sold it to a good friend for a good deal. Now I only have one bass, my US Joe Osborn 4. I need another Bob Glaub. How do you guys like the Skyline Bob Glaubs in comparison to the US models? I had 2 Skyline Joe Osborns in the past and they were very close to the US model I have. I loved them. I just want that dark classic P bass tone. Any ideas? The classifieds have been looking thin for Laklands lately.
