With a maple board a matching head looks out of place to me, sort of like the head is just floating there. But with a ebony, rosewood or similar darker wood board, a matching head to me looks ok.

that works, I never could really figure it out until you mentioned that. Most of mine are maples boards anyway, so it's all good. For me, dark board + matching headstock = double plus good. Light board + matching headstock = 90's hair band![]()
ALRIGHT I'm kind of freaking out...found a 2006 Dude Pit DPLEII (BG+Darkstar) on ebay and hit the buy it now.
I currently own a lakland darkstar (from 2005 actually) and TODAY I was playing it, kind of wishing I had a jazz neck on it, kind of wishing I had block inlays, totally wishing it was white instead of 3ts. And well...
Now I'll have it all. Wowza. Freaking out. That being said, I'm going to mention my 2005 BG DS to ONE guy local, and if he passes it's up for sale...
Also, I've never officially signed up as a LOG here on TB. I always feel like my collection is shifting slightly, and I want to nail it down. I'm a weirdie. But I'm pretty sure I'm like...there. I have the Darryl Jones fretless+chi sonics with ebony/BEM blocks (you guys know the one? sex machine) and a USA Decade in 3ts with darkstars as well as this new DPLEII. I think my collection is SET.
Well I'm excited! Ahh!!!

No problem! Location has its benefits. As it turns out, Carl is on a well-deserved vacation this week, so I probably won't get a chance to see your new Lakie in person before it goes out the door. Hopefully for your sake, it ships out before Friday of next week. That's very cool of you Greg, if you get around to it great, if not, no worries. Very much appreciated.
Looking forward to them, congrats!Ready to pick-up: USA Glaub/Sunburst/Tort PG/Joe Osborn neck/Rosewood

I know this is a Lakland forum, but wanted to share the cool stand I got to display my new Lakland! It was made by Paul Girouard of Girouard Guitars in Sturbridge, MA. He is a cabinet maker by trade but these stands are awesome too! Really classy stuff! Check him out on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/GirouardGuitars It just cool to support local talent building great products for musicians!

I'm officially in the LOG! Posted in the ward!
Greetings,
Never posted here before. Picked up two Lakland US models in the past month or so and I'm impressed, mostly with the feel of the necks.
I found a 2009 US made Joe Osborn 4 with a rosewood board, with blocks and binding, here locally and don't remember ever seeing a US 44-60 with the blocks/binding option. Do you guys see many of those?
Welcome & congrats! B&B US JO's aren't very common, I was lucky enough to find this 2007 gem a few weeks back. No binding, but the blocks are intense! What's the other US you scored?
