Hehe, well, we're both going to Nashville, barring fares jumping up before I buy tickets in the next day or two. She would probably dig looking at shoes like that, though not wearing them.;)

You should always buy airfare on Tuesdays if you can. From about 3PM on Thursday through close of business on Monday, airfares are higher with the highest fares on weekends. Those same flights are typically priced lowest on Tuesdays and gradually increase through Wednesday and Thursday until they spike again for the weekend.

Interesting, Tat, thanks! I've used that little airfare price trender/predictor that Bing acquired (forget the name right now), but didn't know about the weekly timing.

Hey Doug,

Next time you talk to the guys at Lakland, ask this question for me. Why does a $1200+ bass get shipped in $2 worth of Fender Squier style packaging? I understand wanting to keep costs down, but their Skyline packaging is ridiculous. Personally, I would be fine paying $120 more on the list price for a bass of that quality so that is shipped in a case or a gig bag even. A less expensive Fender ships in a case and IMO is a lesser bass. Am I just being picky?

I thought they ship in gig bags? At least thats what my old skyline came shipped from US to new zealand

Not anymore, they come in a thin corrugated cardboard box and they are wrapped in thin foam sheeting. Exactly what the lower end squiers, yamahas, ibanez and other entry level guitars come in. It's very surprising to me.

Yes, it's the quilt maple top in Amber. I never played a Lakland before but kept hearing nothing but great things about them. I bought it without ever playing one...and when I got it in my hands and started playing it....I thought, "Where has this bass been all of my life?!?"

There will definitely be more Laklands making their way to my collection in the future!

I was in that very same position not long ago.
Never saw one in person, or played one.
Then.... thanks to a convo with Markus, BAM!!!
Went out and sold of a ton of beautiful basses to buy what ended up being FIVE US Laklands within a short 40 day window :)
Happy I did. :hyper:

Easy to go over the edge with US Laklands :)

Hey Clay, seriously, cases just take space (imagine the bump in shipping costs?) and I would not want my Lakland in the gig bags they send with Fenders. :)
