thanks for the "true confession"..... you are forgiven....go play 3 major and 10 minor scales....(of your choosing) and vow to never think about selling it again.... :smug:

Just a followup on my candy red 5564 with the passive Chi JJs........last weekend a few local TBers were over and we were sampling some gear. One of the guys there was Smallmouth Bass......he picked up the Lakie and played it through a Shuttle 9>>> Berg AE112 then later through my Walkabout 12 combo and said: "In my mind, this is how a J bass is supposed to sound". He is so right. Since then I have been givin' her a real go and I consider having put her up for sale a "near miss"......phew! It was like someone hit on my GF and jarred me into realizing what a good thing I had going. I still can't put the sucker down :-)

I would have hated for you to get rid of it only to have sellers remorse....

...glad you like it...and it DOES sing like a J should !!!

Happy Saturday, everybody. Spent my day ripping out carpet and prepping to paint, but had to get out for a little while tonight for a drink. Look what I found at my local watering hole.


EDIT: since my app died and I can't get the pic to post I'll have to put up that purty blue Lakland I found onstage after I get home.

She took a slight vacation in her case :)
Took her out today to enjoy for awhile.

Have to say big thanks to Gordo for selling it to Doude.

This bass in truly one in a million!
Lakland really nailed it when they built this babyeee!! :D

what room are you doing now??? I thought the studio is done.....did you have the paint expert help tear out the carpet or is he "no good" at that?? :smug::eyebrow:

darn you all to heck!!!!

that bass is gorgeous....too bad the neck is too narrow for me.....someday -someday!!! maybe I will get a fiver version...but I doubt it will have the same character....

you forget..Markus had it for a short while....

this is one of 3 basses I went after more than once...one of the others is now in GregC's hand and the other I know own (the black 5576).....

So would I! In fact, I just did...should be hear in a few days. I swear, I have issues with selling and buying DJ's. This will be my 8th one. I don't know why I ever sell them, but I do, and then 6 months later I remind myself how stupid I am. The DJ and 55-02 are the only basses I've sold and repurchased over and over again. :help:

Yeah, Terry was always moving something...it was crazy! I haven't thought of him in forever. Hope he is doing well since I've not seen him around here.

I'm hoping this time I've learned my lesson. I need a DJ5, a DJ4, a Dunn, a 55-02, and JO fretless...nothing else. :D
