Ooh, first gig, that's exciting stuff! Congrats, Tat. The open mic sounds like a good idea, you'll be a little less nervous for the Saturday show. My advice: Don't eat too much prior to the show, and have a little liquid courage beforehand to take the edge off--but only a little!![]()
Thanks for the tips. I prefer to rehearse on an empty stomach so that I have lots of breathing room when I sing. I figured the same may apply to a gig. As far as liquid courage - I'm a lightweight. By the third drink, I'm dancing on the bar, so I probably won't have anything heavier than club soda until it's over and we're just hanging out listening to the other folks play.
Open Mic...that how I started with my first band. Good way to go...crowd very supportive.
Thanks - that's good to know. I went by myself to an open mic last Thursday to hear a friend and ended up on stage for a couple of songs playing his newest build. No one threw bottles, but I still think that's because I was wearing the boots.
