Most Thank You!!....
now where can I find 50k blend in Indonesia?...(Just a retoric question, no need to answer)..:)

Maybe I should change it into vol-vol instead of vol-blend, because it's very hard to find a 50k blend, there only 500k or 250k blend pot on my local...what do guys think?..., I assume it would be either 500k or 250k of volume pot needed.

Thanks again...:hyper:

I would contact Brian or Leo at Lakland via email. They can take care of it. I would not try to convert it.

Thanks man...is it Friday YET???? ugh..... dying for it to arrive. :hyper:

so....Got it today heh???? I cannot wait to seee if you did and your thoughts.

That's the worst, waiting for a new toy to arrive. I just got mine yesterday and I couldn't even find time to play it with the work I had to get done! Awful

congrats! I know what you mean...my basses have been abused by lack of play for a few weeks now and at least one more to go....I am traveling too much (and working on the weekends) to even pick them up!~

I bought some DR Red Devils for the Duck...I accidentally created a freakin' Christmas Bass...

I finally got to put the JO through one of my rigs and WOW! The stacked knob setup gives a jazz bass a totally different level of control. I can't find anything bad about this bass. The only thing that needed adjusting was the truss and it took a slight tweak. The intonation was perfect out of the box. It complimented my Duck Dunn and 44-02's so well. I think I finally have all of my tonal ranges covered. I'm totally satisfied.

YUP!!! love me some stacked knobs.....TOTALLY more control and variability!

glad you love it!

I bet the Lakie GAS will come back sooner than you think...

LOOK!!!!
It's Doude minus the spiffy shorts...?????
A rare sighting? :)

:hiding:

as rare as the lakness monster!

I am using these on my DJ4 at the moment. Lots of "steel string grind" punch and very easy to make em' bark. I like them. Very modern sounding.

A lot like Marcus Miller sounds actually... ahem... :hiding:

I LOVE MMs.....I have them on 2 of My Lakies now....you describe them well!

Like Sasquatch with less hair!

I shaved that day..... :D

also - you have not seen me without my shirt on.... you may change your mind.... (sorry about the sad visual image)....

here...take a long cleansing breath and put this image in your brain instead:

Not sure which I like better sound/tone wise...????
Need to play the 44-94...44-07 and Scheff all plugged in , same amp settings and decide which of those 3 Reeeeally does it for my ears...
But the playability of the 44-94 is beyond amazing!
Maybe the best bass I have ever played in my life.
And it has looks that flat out KILL!! :D
Super SUPER happy. :hyper:

Heck of a family ya have there Doude...NICE!!!! :bassist:

I bought the Marcus Miller DR's to put on the new 44-94...but honestly...the lakland strings on it still have a ton of life...I mean they ARE brand new....but the bass has been sitting in the case at BC for awhile...
The strings still kick butt...might save the new DR strings and put them on down the road....

Oh wait, I forgot one. I promised some people I'd keep this pic alive ;)
dees-269.jpg

I was waiting......:cool::D

so go with Sadowsky Black's Greg, a little more tension, a little less price, and just as GOOD.

some day I will order a set.....soon...very soon.

Don't play 35" but have thought how much different could it really be? With the exception of the extra string and maybe a little more of a stretch below the 5th fret, but then again with the 5th string why would one play below the 5th fret anyway?

good point on your last comment....I vary where I play...mostly 5th position BUT I do find that the Low F and F# on the E has more Grind than the same notes on the B...

the way Lakie sets up the basses, the difference is really less than 1/2 inch.....they move the bridge down a bit so yu are not really reaching an entire inch more...some people really notice the difference...not me.

There's no money in playing music periodhese days, it's for the love only.

agreed....only for love, enjoyment and relaxation....

I've checked both of my basses and I can't find money anywhere on them... I even looked under the pickguard. :(

LOL!

I took a new family pic...I love bass photography!

GREAT collection there Tex....I cannot wait to see the Cherryburst with the Blocked RW neck...that is REALLY gunna rock!!! :hyper::smug:

AWESOME Dan!!!!

The eagle has landed!! :hyper:

A day late but at first glance looks like it made the trip ok.

Only opened it for a moment in the chilly garage to initially inspect. Did not want to keep it open in the warm house after being out in the cold on fedex trucks.

Will plug it in this afternoon and change strings.
Cannot wait to finally give my ears a load of 44-94 goodness. :D

Initially I cannot believe how light it is...
And how amazing the neck feels!!!
I have a funny feeling this will be my all time favorite!

Th BEM fretboard is beautiful as well.
And the burl is off the charts BEAUTIFUL!!

THANK YOU LAKLAND!! :D :hyper: :bassist:

Lost of fun.
:eyebrow: kind of like Gilligan???

Hello Lakland list - I recently became a proud owner of 097, pictured below. This I think is from 1999, and it's the nicest jazz bass I've ever played. [It's the first US Lakland I've played, also]. It's in pretty great condition, the neck has the most amazing shape and feel. Beautiful rosewood, too. The Fralins sound awesome. I love the flexibility you get with the dual concentric knobs. I was playing a Sadowsky MV5 which I loved but having been a 4 string player for 20+ years I never fully bonded with it. Ultimately, I realized that I'm more at home on a 4 string.

I've had a few Lakland Skylines in the last 4 years - JO4 Korean and Indonesian, 5502, 44-64... Those are nice instruments but they made me want a Chicago-built bass. I'm so happy with this Joe Osborn. It's a real joy to play. I've got Sadowsky flats on it at the moment, but I'm searching for a good steel roundwound to use on it.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

VERY cool catch!!! major congrats! it looks good on you....

Thanks, will do. I didn't realize that it was one of the early ones when I first bought it. But I connected with it immediately and had to have it. Luckily I had a nice bass to sell so that I could buy this one. It's my only bass at present, but I'm saving up for a Glaub. Not sure whether to get the standard width or the Jazz width neck...

A Glaub would be a great companion! If you like the neck profile on the JO go for the J neck....

Thanks to Jeremy on here, I scored this sweet Joe Osborn (55-60) five string. I didn't post pictures sooner since I've been busy playing it and loving it way too much to it put down. It was everything I thought it would be and more! It plays so smoothly and has the tone I've been looking for.

congrats! glad to see you like it...

+1 to what Black Bart said about Cobalts. So far they're the roundwound of choice for me after trying quite a few.

They're higher tension at first but settle in after a while. Still after being broken in I would consider medium-high tension. I don't like the sound of new rounds but enjoy the period from when the zing wears off till when they die. So far they've stayed in that sweet spot since October with moderate play time on them.

someday I will try them....although I seem to be liking lower tension strings these days.

Everybody cross something!!!!!! I'm an hour away from a flight and I'm carrying on my 55-02... Having a beer to calm the nerves!

retroactive good luck!

 may the gods of mechanical flight not hate on you

What kind of beer? :D

Shock Top hefe-thingy

not bad beer at all!

Arrived in MCI... She road In the overhead just fine... Who says the skies aren't friendly???

whew!!!! how did you get it in the overhead?

I had a very "unfriendly skys" Sunday/Monday...sorry to hijack but:

I arrived at O'Hare 1-1/2 hours before my flight....PLENTY of time to get to teh plane which I was on going to Tulsa

The bag did not arrive with me....somehow, It went to Memphis instead of Tulsa and tehn spent the night in Houston even though it was supposed to be in Tulsa before the day was over)....did not get it until late Monday night....and I packed several items I needed for biz mtgs Sunday and Monday....

I also got a different story each time I called.

I was not a happy camper!

week over - hopefully next week will be better...

Back on topic...glad your trip worked out for you.
