I wasn't diggin the Aero's w/the Classic 4 band, switched to a set of Aguilar 4J-70's & couldn't be happier!
Thought about the HC's but ended up with the singles, either way they're great pickups!

Told you those Aggie 70s wind pickups were legit...

Hate to say so, but I'm considering leaving the Lakland club. I love my 55-60 but it's missing something. Every time I use it I like the playability and stuff, but I miss some kind of punch, low end and tightness. It's not the strings, it's not me ('cause my vintage Fender does have it) and I'm afraid it's the bass... It's a tough decision which I haven't made definitively yet, but it's a serious option.

If you love the playability stick with it and modify it! It would be cheaper than a new bass.

What pickups are in your fender? It us a 70s right? Maybe you need a set it aeros or a set of Hanson retros. Another option would be CHisonics.....

Just giving you options......you can change electronics easier than the feel of a bass

It's a parts Jazz w/ 70s spacing. Wanted to hear how they sounded in the 70s placement. Probably won't keep them in there... Don't want to get hit by lightning.

In all reality, I am getting out of parts basses most likely. They are hard to pick up when you have a bunch of really nice basses... Speaking of really nice basses. Pastel anyone?

The Sayers brothers are awesome and Garrett is arguably the best of the three. Definitely the biggest show off. I really dig some of the arrangements of the Dead tunes Motet does. Great band!!!

In all reality, I am getting out of parts basses most likely. They are hard to pick up when you have a bunch of really nice basses... Speaking of really nice basses. Pastel anyone?

I have considered that. The thing is I like the playability, but I don't love it. I know I've said otherwise in the past, but lately I've found out it could be better but maybe not on this bass...

It's a 60's (1966) so a set of Aguilars would be cool, but I doubt it'll be enough. And if it doesn't work I've bought aset of Aguilars for nothing

I have a skyline DJ for sale with rosewood. I can do sound clips if you're concerned about an aggressive sound...it's loaded with Aeros and I think it sounds great. Actually, there's an AC model for sale as well out there. Maple neck
