I'm already looking to complete my bass collection (I only need 2). I was thinking American PBass for sure, but I heard the 44-64 and damn.....I think it may be even better.

Running a LowEnd "Booty In A Box" through the return on my tecamp binafide, bypassing the pre. This thing sounds so PHAT, with my Lakland DJ5, coming through my Glasstone Lil' G! The DJ has a clean vintage sound, SC pups, and the LE pre just boost that vintage sound to the next level. Loving this combination right now!

That sounds very appealing although I don't think I comprehended a word of it!

I'm ok until I have to play with other people... Not good enough to justify a fretless THAT nice.

... and this is why I ended up selling this beauty. A real fretless player could make this sing, I couldn't with my style of play or lack there of.

I got better over time. I also usually play fretless sitting down which helps see the fretboard etc.

Yup...."even better"....and the neck feels much better IMHO.

How about a 5564?

You also have the choice if a few different pickups depending on if you want more vintage or modern sound.

Then you want the 4464 with the hanson vintage pickup. That is a GREAT classic sounding P pickup. I have one in my 5564 LOG BASS and love it!

not sure if this is a no-no, but i ran across a used US 55-94 with a quilted maple top, cherryburst finish and left-handed and was wondering if $1600 is a good deal?

Um, barring any major issues, in my experience that would be a "HELL YES". If you play lefty, that is. (I'm a lefty that plays righty.)
