Hate you. Nothing personal.Crazy lucky find. Lower, Juan Alderete custom DJ. fretless, pj, killer.
Story to come. Now I have 2 of his Lakies, but this one is by accident. Had no idea until I took it out of the box...thanks guitar center used!

Have any of you current DJ5 owners replaced your pickups? I like what I'm hearing from the Lakland single coils, but was just wondering what you playa's like.

the CHIs are much hotter passive....when I got my JO5CS the sound guy thought it was active!
...there is a small volume knob on the LH3 to eaualize the volumes passive and active....Carl says to not overdue it or you get distortion....details here:

Yes, I have adjusted that before to try and equalize the two settings. I have to say though, I did not like the active set that low for some reason, so I bumped it back up again just a bit. I often prefer the active setting live and passive for recording, there is just that much more definition to my ear in a busy bar mix and room. Fantastic instruments and ditto on all the neck comments, love em.
I don't think I ever got a club number - so I attached one of my Lakkies to join if I could....
Sweet find! I thought Juan's DS-loaded Joe Osborn was black, too, but maybe this is a different one or maybe it was refinished at some point.Crazy lucky find. Lower, Juan Alderete custom DJ. fretless, pj, killer.

This bass was brand new from Bass Central in May of 2010 (I am the 2nd owner). Serial number is 7243. I love everything about its sound and playability. My motive for wanting to Sale is mostly due to changing aesthetic tastes (looking for something with more of a vintage vibe),
Disclosure: When the bass was shipped to me, the bottom strap button screw was not fully tightened. As a result, the strap button was bumped in transit and scraped a tiny bit of finish off within a few millimeters of the strap button. I do not know how this happened, but such it is. This small imperfection is the bass's only significant flaw and is completely hidden by the strap when playing. I don't have a scale, but it seems lighter than my 60's J-bass; I'm guessing 8.5 -9.5 lbs. Bass comes with OHSC and installed strap-lock buttons.
Price $2400.00
