I have to wait 6 more days to get the new (to me) LPB Glaub but I can spend that time playing with my other new purchase...

sweet Johnny!!!

So far I am very very impressed with everything about it.

Side note: Does anyone know if they still make and have any of the Lakland shirts?

Yup....not often but they do make runs here and again....email Leo and see when they are doing the next run...

Last time I asked Leo they were $25 or $30...I'd really like a hat.

you guys DO know about the LOG cafe press store???? right???

not so much. :hmm:

Interesting...I like both...I'm on the fence.

very nice! what kind of body wood did you go with? Im thinking of getting the ebony board when i order my lakland but not sure if i should go with ash or alder yet

Ebony gives a nice "sharpness" to a bass....I have 2 ebony boards and LOVE them.

as for body wood? I don't know on the 55-76 and would have to go back to Carl's choice (well for the back half anyways) for by Carlo - the front half is bubinga....she growls nicely!

He was making fun of me for some recent acquisitions and my bass ADD. The Daphne Blue is haunting me, but I can't afford it without losing a bass...

"making fun? :eyebrow: OK - maybe "just a little"....but when something "better" comes along we ALL go through some pain and suffering....so - you REALLY do like blue and green huh?

Not a bad thing really.... REALLY...

you don't need Doug's approval to sell (or buy basses) that Daphne is hotness personified, only surpassed by the surf green and abalone one of Markus.

He does not???? :eyebrow: haven't you read the LOG fine print???? here it is:

see....plain as dayin the middle of line 3...!

Hey people! I have to come clean... I was going to put my 55-94 fretless up for sale last week. I got cold feet as soon as I took it out of the case for pictures. It's just such a great bass I can't let it go. I just wish it was fretted.

Do you guys know if Lakland will help me out with this? I assume it would be frowned upon to convert the original neck to fretted? It's a 1998 I believe so kinda old school Lakland. Will Lakland fit it with a new neck if I send it in?

well....they will and I think that if it allows you to save the bass that will be well worth th expense!!!! you may even try to sell the fretless neck to recoupe some of the cash.....

As for "frowned upon"???? Leo went and fretted a 2005 (awesome) fretless neck that I had on a bass after he got it from Markus...one of the nicest Lakie necks I have ever played and I forgave him....well...at least partially....

It is indeed Smallequestrian's and you are correct he has been a peach to deal with.

NICE:

glad it worked out...he is a GREAT guy...

Finally showing up to the party...on page 11!! Chatty Cathies for sure. :)

Pulled out the Skyline Duck tonight for a Motown spin. Holy pentatonic, Batman! This has to be the the best sounding and easiest playing bass of all the ridiculous number I've acquired. Easy on the eyes too. Guess I might as well sell the rest.

Not!

P.S. Markus, please keep torturing us with that Surf Green beauty. That is just killer.

welcome in again! better late than never...

why NOT????? :eyebrow: if you love the best...the rest are just...well...the rest...

These are the "classic" jazz pickups. I put them in tonight and well a couple hours of playing later, I am most pleased. As you said very organic like my other LP - just seem to open up the bass and provide excellent clarity. Rumbling lows, defined mids, piano-like highs :hyper:

nice!!! glad you are happy Brian....I should try a set of the classics....maybe on my fretless JO5....oh yeshhhh my prescioushhhh

We all miss you too Ms Heart.

Our band finished a music video, prominently featuring the Lakland Decade used to record the song. Not something you see every day. Lots of closeups, since the video was cut by a bass player (me)

.

darn it!!! internet speed too slow in the hotel...will check it you later....glad you get along with the editor!

I don't know why, but that first shot of you looking up at the ceiling brings to mind a Road Runner vs Wile E. Coyote bit in my mind.

LOL! hillarious...

Wow. Didn't notice the new thread and wondered why you all were being so quiet.. Yet here we are on page 12 by the time I found it!

duh! us? quiet???? come on...how could I not post for this long????

Refins are done and headed my way!

From what I can tell, Marty did a stellar job. Can't wait to put these basses back together!

WOW!!! loving them!!!

Im still waiting to hear back from the registration alias for LOG so I can join...Sorry to be a bother, but there is a US BG Im thinking about buying and would like to get in touch with the seller. Would someone that knows alot of the folks on LOG be willing to PM me if they can help me get in touch with the seller? I would really appreciate it.

No problem, Scotty! Glad to help.

Also, our webmaster has just fixed the problem, the registration link is back.:) PM me here if you have any further registration issues.

Greg...thanks for handling this!!!

Whatcha looking at getting??

yeah...we need details.

Doing some more pickup "surgery" soon. This time on the 44-94 with Delano pickups. Putting a JC 4 HE/M2 - Split-Coil Humbucker in the neck position and a MC 4 HE/M2 - Double SplitCoil Humbucker in the bridge position.
