Yep, that's the drill. I can understand it, just kind of hurts in the wallet to send in a perfectly good bridge without even a discount for the trade-in, but I get they don't want Fakelands roaming around either.

I'll be donning my black nitrile gloves this weekend, yes I actually have black nitrile gloves so I don't get finger oils on anything, especially electronics.

I had this goofy notion in my head that since the other brand usually uses such fancy woods, and the fact that I was getting annoyed with all the swirl marks in the black gloss, that maybe, just maybe they had used something nice underneath the paint. I was going to to do an oil rubbed finish as a weekend project with the natural wood. Turned out it was a really nice wood, just happened to have some bad patches that needed filler. Sent it off to Pat W. and satin black it returned.

DO NOT - repeat my mistake ;) It turned out fine for me because I like solid colors, but if you want a trans finish - don't do it man.

Look for another bass with the finish you want. Solids are painted that way for a reason :D

THAT is beautiful. There's something really appealing about an absolute workhorse p-bass. Precisions should be natural, black, or three-tone burst IMO. I often wondered why the Glaub isn't available as a natural Skyline bass. It would fit the 'well-built, no-nonsense, no-fuss workhorse' ethos very well.

On another note, seeing that over-blue inca silver is absolutely stunning. Does anybody else see a hint of green in it? I think it's going to age really interestingly, like the 60s Lake Placid Blue Fender Jazzes that pop up occasionally, which have all sorts of weird green shades going on.

I sometimes wonder about the pickguard on the DJ too, but I think a correctly-rounded lower horn would actually look a little odd. Maybe that's just me.
