+ 1 to this. Here are 2 basses with pickguards from Mike Quick. ALso, to anyone wondering about the 44-64 LE, this is the color compared to Ice Blue. You can see that it is definitely not Inca Silver.

And this makes three believers!! I would trace your current DJ guard, and draw modifications on it (round down the point, etc) and then you can simply scan that tracing (make a clean one for him) and make sure it's accurate to size...boom! Brand new pickguard, and he doesn't upcharge for custom templates like Jeannies... super quick (pun intended?) and a great guy to work with
I wouldn't pretend this is the most gorgeous Lakie here, but it sure is special to me. In fact, one year ago this week, I bought this US Glaub with the jazz neck here on TB. Hard to believe it's been only a year, given all the great gigs I've had with it already. If disaster struck and I could keep only one of my basses, this quite likely would be the one.
LOL! then I got some more to buy....
PS - if you keep the ones you buy you are safe....there once was "Terry"....he owned (conservatively) 40+ Laklands over a short (4 year?) period of time....he kept buying and selling 44-01s and DJs....oh...and 55-01s and 44-02s and the occasional US Lakie.
at times some of the basses were up for sale BEFORE he even got them....
two things were GREAT:
1) he would make sure they were working well (we called him the Lakie QC dept)
2) he sold spices so the basses would come from him with a nice spicy smell.
wonder what basses he is playing now?

Chances are, if its blue or green I want it and I am a huge sucker for blocks and binding... I did trade Goldie, but you will understand why soon. I can see replacing the Skyline with a US model down the road, but for now its staying put.
