Thanks Doude, came out very nice indeed.

Can't take all the credit for the black covers, that came about from a discussion on the sound I was after. Lakland did a smash up job, went the extra mile and put together one hell of a bass.

Sound is a little more modern than your average JO. The 4494 type pickups give it a bit more punch and the J-retro, well you know...

Oooh, I really like that one, too!

Rehearsing for a community theater show. Using the new (to me) 5501. For one song a teenager that plays guitar and mandolin swaps to bass and I play guitar. When we swap back the bass sounds completely different. He didn't know what the knobs were so he turned them all wide open. It sounded pretty good that way. It never really occurred to me to try that.

Just picked up some big splits to upgrade but now I'm wondering if the secret to the mk1 is to crank everything.

Thanks John, really digging it.

Wow! to quote Robert Palmer, she is 'simply irresistible'

Dressed about the same as well :D

:D
Seriously, though, fantastic looking bass!

Edit: Damn, every image I try to post on TB lately comes out as a red X. Oh well, it was Bart Simpson as the Raven.

Kudos to you sir for combining the Raven reference and my Nickname.

And it looks like your images have a double "http://" in them.

Jaw is on the floor! To quote the namesake...
"words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality."

Impressive instrument, for sure.

Bart, you have taken stealth to a new level. I bet the bass has a zero radar signature, as well. :)

Great bass, man. Have fun with it!

Thanks Woody!

Thank you sir!

Shadow- you're seriously killing me. Want to touch the heiny

Baby got back? :D

BB, big +1 to above about Nevermore... Gorgeous bass, you should be proud.

Just curious, what's the logic on the switch that takes the J pu's to full on? Instant slap switch without getting messing w eq? Or do you have another tonal goal or technique in mind?
