Sorry... not all my fault but we are pretty cool fellows here in the LOG and don't get all worked up like some threads do. Plus... that bass isn't in direct competition with any product Lakland sells.

I just picked up a 44-60 AJ yesterday. Absolutely loving it so far. I think it's a lot better than the 3 Fenders I have. I'll have pics up of it later.

Lakland and SVT...... sweet. I was ignoring the tshirt. Actually have that one also though seldom play a fender out live.

but i think Fender gets a free ride for bass in general. as IMHO 80% of what 's out there has their roots firmly in Leo's bass creations

Just busting your chops. Without Fender and his innovations, none of us would have an obsession to dump tons of money into and waste a large part of our lives. Leo gave us purpose and a starting point. Dan Lakin gave us perfection and passion.

Gotcha. "basspraiser"/Doug lives in Crystal Lake and is one of the admins of the Lakland Owners Group site (along with me and John/Gecko5). He's also usually the most frequent poster on this thread. If you want a LOG number, he's the guy to PM.

I love my vintage Fenders... But I have a JO because that is where Fender coulda/shoulda gone... But didn't

That's a much better picture. I like the baby HoBo a lot more now.

The connection to the violin bass puts it in better perspective as well. Makes sense in that "slot".

I thought the same thing about the Fender shirt at first, but yeah, it's an icon. Heck, even my sax player wears a Fender T-shirt to half our shows.

Great action shot. I love this time of year and playing outdoor festivals and carnivals and beer gardens!
