Lakland Owners Group #66

For the life of me, I never knew why they changed that scene.

Lucas wanted to make Han seem to have morals. Lucas felt that Han was morally ambiguous and making it appear that Greedo shot first made the transition from anti-hero to hero easier.

I like Han being portrayed as morally deficient, I think that it shows how rough life under the Empires control really was.

^^^this would be why I don't watch star wars. If I have to have analytical conversations about a fictional character's moral compass, I have already thought about it too much. Give me the yellow twinkie guys from Despicable Me anyday...

How is it different from analyzing Robert Jordan from For Whom the Bell Tolls or Lenny and George from Of Mice and Men or the actions of Kevin the minion from Despicable Me? It's not. We are just more nerdy than you.:D

I read, and gave a book report, on Ender's Game when I was in 2nd grade... That was about all the sci-fi I could handle. I guess I just peaked too early... Plus, I have been too busy getting good at playing bass to watch movies... :D

Whatever Tyler....I was YOUNG enough to get my Star Wars fix BEFORE I began playing bass .....

,:)

I respect you anyways...

I think being a Lakland owner should require being awesome, and not loving the original Star Wars puts you in the not-so-awesome category

No comment.....that would not be politically correct....oh hell.......I agree!

Tyler....come on over...we will do a 4 to 6 marathon....

....everyone remember the first time you saw the star destroyer come over on a large screen?

Made an impression on me for life....awesomeness ..... pure awe...

Whatever, I never said I didn't see them, just that I don't care. They also came out when I was like 2 years old. My dad was a high school classmate of George Lucas's so I certainly saw them, just don't really remember. I also saw the new ones which made my contempt for the series even stronger.

Hmmmm....a connection?
then you should be even more dedicated.

Don't judge by 1 to 3...

Btw...Disney us making 6 to 9....oh joy....:(

Who shot first, Han or Greedo? Say it! SAY IT!!!

You know, a black DJ5 with a rosewood fretboard and red strings, would like, be Darth Vader's Lakland of choice.

I agree.....on the DJ

But I think black beauties are a better choice for strings.

Who shot first?

Movie version?
vhs version?
DVD version?
extended version?
Remade extended version?
Remade extended extended version?

Man ...you got to clarify....

Schlep that i am....I have ALL of the versions....

Supposedly my star wars collection is worth almost $10k....if only I could trade that in for 3 nice lakies!

....and it proved Harrison Ford was a hell of a good actor and not just a carpenter....

He is the epitome of cool...still is

Started playing bass at 6, was in my first "band" at 8. Played professional bluegrass and jazz at 13 (like actually got paid although it was with family members). When y'all were watching Star Wars I was learning Kansas and Eagles songs so I could play with my dad. That is prime sci-fi and video game time... Both things I never got into (the last video game system that I even owned was an N64). On top of all that, i played baseball year round for about 20 years. At this point in my life, not really knowing anything about Star Wars probably makes me more interesting than watching it again. I have seen all the Rocky movies multiple times though. Adrian!!!!

All joking aside, I have no problem with SW or sci-fi, just joking with y'all.

I just had to Google Greedo!!!!

For me Star Wars went down hill right after they killed off Peter Cushing. I know, I still didn't know who Greedo was!

I'm off to top up my awesome.

I think you mean 7-9

I understand technically why they did it, but Han was already a scoundrel. Nobody cared if he shot Greedo.

I just had to Google Greedo!!!!
