Its not fancy and gorgeous like 4-94....but I love sunburst basses and I wanted lakland quality and those small frets and 10" radius is just sooo easy to play....its rosewood so I wont miss BEM so much....the sound is gorgeous. That's what attracted me to USA laklands

pretty sure USAs will, for Skyline's the case is extra. all you have to do is ask the dealer.

Do they use the East Indian Rosewood on the 4-14?

This bass reminds me of the Spector Forte...Their no frills version, except same pre as 4-94's...I think you can upgrade to HAZ with Forte

Lakland website says all same specs....Just no BEM...1/4 sawn rock maple neck / East Indian RW

This is one of the reasons I've wanted to try out a Dingwall...you get a 37" scale B string and it works it's way down to a 34" scale on the G.

I also had a couple of Dingwalls....the 34-37" variety and IMHO they sound and feel far clearer and more uniform across all strings....truly amazing, but 37" B and 36.25" E makes it harder for me to play fast (the fanned frets were not a problem) ....and I need all the help I can get. In the end I decided that they sound better, and the more uniform string tension across the board is amazing, but since I cannot play them as well the improvements were more than cancelled out for me.

The fact that the tension feels identical across all strings is amazing, and the 37" B is clear as (the mother of all) bell(s)....even with a 128G B. You do not have to compensate for low tension by using a thicker B string.....but the octave reach in 1st position is much longer.

I'm using the hardware on a custom build. Lakland does not do 34" scale and I'm not using this anymore. pickup cavities are routed for a nordstrand Musicman HB at bridge and a big split at neck. extra bonus signature by Kyle Brock, Eric Johnson's bassist from the late 70's and one of the true greats of the bass. picture would not upload from my phone.

I was going to go with a p and j but decided j and a 44-14 is cool for that active sound to compliment my passive j bass I ordered....its cool I didnt have to wait 7 months for 44-14 at least
