I asked to buy one for a Skyline. Was a firm "no" at that time. They are stocked at pretty much a one for one with USA basses.
I ended up with a OHSC but it cost 3K. They threw in a highly discounted 44-94 with a bump to the head of the line for it's build.
That is how I ended up with my new #1.
Their newer hardshell cases (black with brown fur inside) aren’t anything exciting, imho… I wish they had better gig bag options (I have an old UnderCover one, which is a GREAT bag), but what can you do? I’m sure if they thought they could sell them, they’d have them, but then they’d also have to stock them.
I had two of the Lakland UnderCover gig bags. They were fantastic!
Their current hard shell cases seem to be made by Douglas Cases. They’re mediocre at best. Mine is sitting in my closet and I use a Gator hybrid case for it. The outside is a thin vinyl over the wood, not tolex. It scratches super easily. I’ve also seen a few issues with the handles failing on their hard shell cases. Their previous generation case was better.
Thanks for all the info. Yeah, I have one that came with a used Lakland I bought. The handle has completely fallen apart and is held together with duct tape and some foam underneath. It's also a little too long. But like the Lakland branding plate on it. I have a Gator Gig Bag that I use more often.

The pickguard looks like something that is wrapped in white duct tape. Someone should buy this and burn it!
…that is my reaction too. It looks like someone wants their Lakland to look like a Music Man.
If my EBMM looked like that, I’d burn it too!
The best part is it’s actually screwed to the bass so even if you take it off…
And I can’t quite tell what’s happening with the fret markers. Hopefully just stickers.
I like the concept....if the pick guard was done "properly" ...
I like the overall look.. But yes the execution sucks ...

Out of Lakland scope question for you guys - I am looking to get a second rig and two great choices at very similar prices have come up - I don't gig, mostly studio work but like to move air when creating/composing and rehearsing, I mainly use a Kemper for recording - I also have a Markbass LMIII w/210:
- Aguilar AG700 w/ SL212
- TrickFish Bullhead .5 K w/TF112
Thoughts or experiences to share?

It's been a bit, but I had the AG700 and 2 SL112's, I thought it was a great rig. I think the AG700 is a their best class d head, super easy to get a great sound, well voiced eq, and the "magic buttons" are a quick way to dial in some extra sweetness. The SL 12" cabs are nice too, easy to schlep and sound good- they are not the most hifi out there, but definitely a nice warm, punchy low end. Personally, I think Aguilar is great stuff and works well in most situations, but I'm not a slapper or chord player, I could see how the highs (kinda' rolled off, not as present as some others- not muddy though) would make you look elsewhere. I mostly use Bergantino stuff now, and it's definitely clearer sounding (I used to be an SWR guy, so I think I will always lean towards that), but it doesn't get the Aguilar vintage/modern sound without some tweaking. I think the Aguilar stuff has a somewhat similar low end to the MB stuff, but has better clarity in the mids and highs. I am not knocking the MB stuff, mind you- I think it sounds GREAT in a mix, but on its own, it's a bit woolly, and "blurry" in the top end.
I also more recently had the Trickfish 1k (which has the Pascal power supply, the .5k has the ICE one (I'm pretty sure)) and two of the TF112 cabs. Definitely a more low/low mid push with that rig. With a brighter hifi bass like my FBass BN5, it sounded great, but with my Lakland ('99 with the Barts), it was a bit too dark sounding for me. Guys in the TF thread do say the .5K is a little more "open" sounding, but even with my Bergantino amp, the TF 112 cabs are definitely voiced with the low frequencies in mind. Again, clear and not muddy, but they are what they are. I also didn't like the handle placement on the cabs- they are some wide and deep little cabs, and the handle placement made it has to carry two of them through doorways and up stairs. They're also not the lightest weight neo 1x12's either. I really wanted to like that rig, but it's didn't work for me. YMMV though.

Excellent information and experience sharing Matt - thank you so much for that. I have to agree that my MB rig sounds good but looking for more articulation and definition etc., and it can quickly get boomy if not EQed properly - as you mentioned, I can get there with adjustments but in the mix is were it sounds best to me. I was emailing with Ryan at TrickFish and he mentioned to look at the TF112M cab (or mini) rather than the TF112, given it will primarily be used for rehearsal and studio work. I think I am leaning towards trying that.

I'm actually intrigued by those cabs, and they announced a combo with one (and their BH mini amp) at NAMM...
