Lakland Owners Group #69

Done! I ordered the DJ-Retro this morning, woohoo! Hope to be here by Friday.
I'm, really digging the DJ w/these DR strings., Should pass my Carvin as my #1 as soon as the DJ-Retro gets here... (I'm a nut for active tone and the Retro will bring it over the top I believe. This also has the best passive tone I've heard in a LONG time!

The DJ-Retro was delivered yesterday and I've only had a couple hrs on it. Install was easy, I dig the screw terminals. It JUST FIT, a lil tight with the A/P switch in the way, but I got it.
Basspraiser, you were right, no unwanted discoloration. The enhancements are extreme and I can see this bass getting ANY tone wanted for any genre, but it shines in straight-ahead rock/blues/jazz.
THanks for the recommendation!

Gave my wife a quick lesson at our last gig. She has promise, but we need to work on neck strap placement. BTW, no surprise but the Glaub's tone killed at this gig - we had a few songs where I needed a pick, and the combo of rounds, pick, Fralins with a clean amp setting was nasty!

Digging my new 2010 Lakland 55-02 Deluxe! It's a present from my wife...I won't say it's the nicest thing she's given me ;) but this is already a sentimental favorite in my stable. I love the way it plays and sounds with my home practice rig...can't wait to try it in a full band setting, I have no doubt it will deliver.

So far I dig the character of the LH3 electronics. I really don't want to be compelled to go making any changes to this bass. I've read that some find the stock setup sterile or lackluster but I am sure many are happy with it too.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to many years of enjoyment with this bass!

CONGRATS on the Wife - and the bass! Yours looks a lot like the one my wife bought me but I changed out the knobs to ebony. I've had the bass for a lot of years now and it is still one of my favorites.

Mine originally came with the Bart electronics but the preamp went bad and I replaced them with the LH-3's...and like the sound.
