I just picked up a black 55-60...I notice that there doesn't seem to be very many black Skyline XX-60's or XX-64's out there even though it's shown as a stock color for both models. Are these really not so common?

Not many out there.... The only 4464 skyline in black is the PJ....

Not sure if black is still a standard color on skyline -60 models....

I stand corrected... Both the 64 and 60 models are listed with black being a standard color.

Really have not seen many of either though.

Mine is a used 2014...I just picked it up here on TB. It is nicely modded with a pair of awesome sounding Aguilar DCB pickups. It joins my burgeoning Lakland fiver family and gives me a more traditional looking bass for gigs that call for that sort of thing.

I tried looking for other completed listings for a black 55-60 here or other auction/classified sites as well as any availability of new ones at any of the usual online retailers and have come up empty. One ebay retailer has a listing, but that was all I could find. Black 55-64...NADA! I see now why @mark beem is having one done up on his own.

I have a VMTD and am thinking about adding a B3K for that reason...

I'm not sure about the guard. I was thinking maybe a Gold Anodized guard would be even better, but I have problems to find one. What do you think? Gold or Tort?
