I am starting to comb through the Lakland club threads but does any have pics or can link pics to 55-02 with different knobs

I put rosewood knobs on my sunburst 55-94 - DARK rosewood. I really dislike those rubbery knobs that come standard.

Thanks guys, gives me something to go on. I'm not a fan of the mini knobs, especially for volume and balance control.

I am used to the feel of my pbass knobs, using my index or pinky on for quick adjustments- was thinking of swapping those two for black or silver knurled knobs, then changing out the mini ones for some mini jvass style. Still chewing on ideas, it's more of a functional mod for me than cosmetic.

Anyone have a good lead for an NYC (or Jersey but near the city) luthier for shielding the control cavity?

As far as shielding, your 55-01 should have black paint in the control cavity that does the shielding. If you want copper, go on eBay and buy the copper tape for $5 and do it yourself. Very easy and cheaper as a DIY.

I am so happy with my Lakland 55-01. I have adapted to the 35" scale and fifth string quickly and really like it. This bass is so easy to play!

The 5501 is often overlooked, but is a fantastic bass. I love mine.

I have no problems switching between the 44-01 and 55-01 at all.

I know that replacement pickups for both need the P2 size, but what would the pole spacing be for them?

I'm with you. Not crazy about the looks, but they do the job and are easy to grab. But different strokes for different folks
