What is your pickup/preamp set up in that bass? Do you have to bridge setup to split the coil?
I bought this bass a few months back from a fellow TBer. He brought it to the techs at Sadowsky and they did the Nordstrand conversion. From what I remember he told me that he had them customize the pre amp. It has a passive/ active pull on the volume and the there is a pull to change the frequency so it can sound like a Stingray. There are so many fun tone options.

Arrived yesterday!! Nice and lively!! Haven't weighed yet, but feels very light! The tone is exactly what I wanted! Custom ordered and Lakland Delivered!!

US Lakland
Contoured body
Birdseye Maple neck with not fret markers
1.62" nut
Single coil pickup, and no pickguard or pickup cover, or holes.

Love this thing! And the Gecko strap sets it off perfectly! Looking for that stripped down hot rod look.

This one will be called Eve. Not the first, '51 P Bass, but created from the first. Eve. Like '57 P. I see some Police tunes in my future!

How do you like the shorty-hobo?
you have good taste in P's as well

I'm enamored with both of these on opposite ends of the spectrum. The HB30 is compact, light, and delivers a deep and creamy bottom end with good sustain. The Geezer is a fat and biting P-sound that shines through straight ahead rock songs. I love the sound the Geezer pups bring.
Cheerios!

Just wanted to share an update on my recent Lakland bass related moves.

A recent bass sale generated some fun-money for me to spend. I decided to spruce up my three main players...all Lakland 5'ers.

First, for my 55–60 I found a great deal on a pair of new Nordstrand Fat Stacks. I liked Aguilar DCB's that were installed by the previuous owner OK but I like the Nordy's in my 55-01 and always imagined they would sound great in the Jazz, now with a J-Retro installed as well. Plus, and I know this is superficial but I think that a fender-ish bass should have exposed pole pieces on the pick ups. I put these in last night and I'm very happy with the results, They sound great! Here is a pic:

For the 55–01 and the 55–02 I found a couple other good deals. New preamps for both! A Glockenklang and a Mike Pope. Both of these get great reviews. I am pretty sure that the Mike Pope will be going into the 55–02 but I have not made up my mind completely. I could go either way as they are both compatible with both basses. Thoughts?
