Lakland Owners Group #69

Glad you like the bass (I was the guy on the other end of the auction)!

I pulled the control plate for a peek. The wires are red and green, which means they're Hansen pups (as I understand it).

Thanks for saving me the time of pulling the plate to find out... The neck is a thing of beauty, and I can't wait to try it out this weekend!

I'm working on a little solo EP to sell at my solo gigs around town and such and recorded this version of the Beatles' 'Nowhere Man' with my fretted 55-01 the other day. I got a Boomerang Phrase III looper for Christmas and it has made a lot of solo tunes and writing for solo gigs so much easier. Anyway, this is all a 55-01 with Lakland Custom Wound light gauge strings. Thought some folks might enjoy hearing it. Really versatile tone on these basses, even stock!

There are some other solo pieces on there as well... here's an additional link to an original, 'Transference'.

It's a surf green stripe, charcoal metallic frost binding. Marty did all 4 refins, and killed it! Those two are my favorite. I'll be putting strings on the 3 I have in hand (Carl Pedigo has the other) and hopefully I'll have the lighting to take some good photos!

Marty eh, I'll keep that in mind for Old Joe...

If he can do a large metallic flake like Markus had on that CAR decade, he's my guy!
