That's too bad, but I completely understand from a business perspective. Looks like I will be buying a Skyline 4-sting pbass in the near future.Leo just confirmed... Not enough demand for a skyline 5564....so no more....

I wish Lakland would consider a Skyline P/J 5 string. Maybe if they added a J to the Skyline 5564, they might find greater business value in that model.
You could string it BEAD if you want the B-string and nearly everything that comes with it, though that will likely require a new nut.
I have 2 5564 PJs... Different pickups... Love them!
I think the main issues is the minimum order size... Not sure what it is now... But it was 30 and I heard rumors of that going up ....
And the 5 string P market really is not as large as people think.... That is what I was told by Leo.... They were not selling fast at all....
That's a shame because 5-string P or PJ or P/MM is where I'm headed, I think. Fave bass at the moment is a Yamaha BB425X ... thinking of replacing J with P in my two 55-02s.
Hmmm...a P/ MM COMBO would be interesting.

It meets all my requirements in wanting a PJ pickup configuration, passive. It it were a 5-string, I would own it by now. I'm inching closer to pulling the trigger, but I want some insight from the group.

Haven't done it yet. Still getting back into playing after several years of not being in a band. I may finish up buying a sandberg with that pickup combo.
Never owned one of those specifically BUT they look GREAT! ...and the pick up combo is GREAT!

I'm also after a 5 string P/J or P/MM combo. Well, I kinda have it in the mail.
A Carvin PB5 P/J is coming to me this Friday. I'm interested to hear and feel it. One thing I'm especially hopeful about is the Tone pot works in Active and Passive modes. And active bass with high cut tone I think would be very effective. I play covers, country and Top 40.
The PB5 has it's stock Carvin pickups onboard. If I don't like the tone, I was thinking of Nordstrand NPJ5S set.
My Skyline 55-02 and the PB5 will have a very serious duel this weekend. And I fear the fact that the PB5 with a P at the neck will win. Hard to beat P bass depth. And with a J at the bridge to give it brightness. I just don't know why P/J combo isn't 80% of the market.

I don't really mind the idea, but whenever I played them, I found I really used the P mostly, so why not just play a P?

I felt the same way for a long time. My only P is just a P and I still don't know that if I had a 44- or 55-64 or similar bass built I'd bother with the J pickup. That said, when I put a Geezer P/J set into an LTD-Vintage-214 Fretless it really sold me on why folks like the setup. If you get a PJ set like the Geezer that's well matched it's quite good sounding. I played with the P full on most of the time but being able to dial in a bit of the J (especially if it's a hum canceling J so there's no buzz issues) was very usefull and most often I had some J in the mix. The 214 and Geezers was a shockingly great bass for not much money and I'd still have that bass if I wasn't so set on moving toward 35" as my platform of choice.

I personally think the J pickup adds some " depth" ..... Although I really like a GOOD P pickup by itself as well....
My personal favorite Hanson P is the "vintage" ....imho.... Very very much like a fralin.... But a bit better

I’m certainly glad to already have one (Skyline, sadly I’m not in the USA market $$$$$). Not that it was going anywhere anyway, but it for sure is going to stay in the stable.
I have a Skyline 55-64 P/J...really nice bass but I've only seen a couple of them.
