Catching up on posts - I've been away for a while chasing another hobby. This is an outstanding setup! A passive Lakland through an all tube amp into a sealed cabinet simply cannot be beat for pure grin-factor. I love love love my SVT into my Berg NV425!

I am wondering why my Lakland hasn't sold yet. It must be a down market. I guess everyone spent their tax money. I am trying to fund a new custom US, but my fund raising is not going according to plan.

Guys, I have traded one of my Roscoe LG5's for another Lakland.
It is the Lakland 55-63 w/active Sadowsky PUs which has the rounds on TB before.
So now my bass family includes: Lakland 55-94 (1998); Lakland 55-63 Active (Dual J); a Roscoe Custom LG3005; and a Lull P5. A good mix if you will.

FYI Sweetwater is blowing out Decades for just under $900. My rep told me they new though they have them listed as scratch and dent. Apparently Lakland is changing the fretboard wood from rosewood to Indian Laurel. I'm trying to get them to find me a lightweight one to buy.

Hi guys, previous and now current Lakland owner again. This is my current Lakland, a 55-01 3 tone sunburst with custom pickguard. It is stock, but I am planning on gutting and replacing the electronics with EMG pickups and a Spector preamp. Unconventional I'm sure, but I know what I like

Recently acquired a playmate for my Skyline Jerry Scheff. It’s a nearly pristine 44-02 deluxe with a serial number that dates it from August 2002—right at the very introduction of that model. I think they must have been really trying to prove a point with that early run because the build quality and feel of this bass is nearly flawless.
The JS has an interesting history as well, as it is most likely the only Skyline version of this model that has a factory installed LH-3 preamp. According to the folks at Lakland, it was assembled from parts for a special dealer order in 2006 (which is when the neck dates it), several years after they stopped importing these. I’ve had this bass for four or five years now, play it out quite often, and always get comments about how nice it sounds.
