Lakland Owners Group #69

Figured I would share this here, even though it's not a bass. Picked this up on Reverb recently. Apparently about 10 years ago Lakland was considering marketing a Decade guitar, but then the US economy tanked and they decided not to. This is one of the prototypes. It's fantastic.

Nice shot of me and my girl at work over the weekend:

Played like a dream. Accidentally ordered the wrong string gauge, so had to tweak the truss rod and saddles on friday, but we've been together 11 years now, she feels familiar no matter what she's wearing ;)

Also messed around with the pedalboard I'm putting together:

Sounded really great. Top row is direct, bottom row is in the effects loop. Pretty extreme settings on the CEB3, I know, but the FOH was terrible and they needed to be that high for it to make a difference to people standing at the back.
And I've been saying it all over the forums, but the T-Rex Quint is an utterly brilliant octaver, it really should get more love around here. Much more organic sounding than the TCE SubnUp.

Anyway, the fundamental sound was a slab of swamp ash over a decade old, with chicago electrics installed, and it sounded soooo good.

I do love me a Lakland.

Peace,

As someone who plays guitar a lot more than bass these days I was pumped to see Lakland make some guitars but fancy top teles dont do it for me. I would have preferred this Decade guitar or the Jazzmaster inspired ones they made awhile back. I think if they did a Skyline level offset guitar they would sell a bunch.
