Lakland Owners Group #69

Action shot of my 44-64 with EMG GZR pups at Arlene’s Grocery in Feb. Back lined by a Aggie TH500; fun time.

Gorgeous bass! Looks like you’re having fun too.
We did have fun, although it was tough to get a lot of folks out on Valentines Day in NYC.

My lead guitarist loves your P51; he asked where it was when I broke out the red one. Gigged it on a Motown:funk show and I didn’t find any photos. Very happy with it; growls with flats installed.

It’s an amazing bass! I loved its voice! Glad your guitarist appreciates it too!

I decided to experiment:

Just put some light Prosteels on my Sexual Chocolate, now tuned EADGC. She’s wearing a 30.40.55.75.95 set I pieced together. It’s pretty well balanced tension-wise except I feel the C could have been lighter... maybe a 25.

I have never played a light set in 30 years, if anything I would buy heavier strings. I’m wishing I had done it sooner! These feel great! I’m hoping they sound just as good with the band. The hex cores make them feel tight enough to not buzz like crazy.

I’m digging this!

That’s my kind of 55-94 right there! And from my favorite era, the late 90s had the prettiest birdseye!

I’m also a Roscoe fan! Never owned one but the ones I’ve played were amazing!
After many years of trying out basses, the Roscoes and the Laklands are my gig. That is why I was dying to get a Classic Roscoe to add to the collection.
