I took one for the team and bought a total overkill snowblower in February, hasn't snowed (of any significance) since. It's still in the crate in my garage

Still in the crate?! My old 1999 JD 345, on the other hand, has gotten quite the workout the last 6 weeks. I had almost bare ground at the beginning of February. Now I'm about 1 more big snow of not being able to get the snow over the hills.
Holy cow... you guys up in Minnesota (eh) got it pretty bad this year... while I hate winter more each year, I suppose it could always be worse

Yeah. I don't remember the last time we've gotten this much snow in such a short period of time. Very cold too.

Back on track...
Lakland has several 4464 burst bodies that they are mating with older 1.5" necks... Some with blocks and binding and calling them "B stock" because of the old serial numbers on the neck.
I think they are asking like $950 to $975....

I saw that. They look sharp, if you're into 3TSB P basses with RW and blocks.
Some of you might know this bass - has been here in Classfields long time ago and I recently bought it on Reverb.
Yes it is not for JB purists (Bart pre) and it is not a museum piece, but I have to say, it is the best JO I have ever had. Made in 2002 as one of the first with matching headstock, fralins, quite heavy alder body and the neck.. super straight grain on qs maple and super dark rosewood make this really special. Sound is very tight? solid? - dont know how describe it better. But different from other Joes I had - even in passive mode. Anyway, it was worth every penny and hassle with international shipment. And now some pics, didnt have time to make better ones.

How do you maintain your US Lakland necks? I still like the old LOG procedure based on Howard stuff - orange oil to clean it, feedNwax as a next layer and finally polish the back of the neck with steel wool. Always very very satisfied with the result, just like now:
I use the Howard feed after the steel and orange oil wipe down; gets rid of any dust, etc. Not sure it matters either way.
I've yet to re-apply anything to my Lakland necks. But, I'm thinking it's time to, on my SN 11 from '95 and SC from '98.
I'll be using Tung oil or possibly Birchwood Casey Tru Oil and gun stock wax. I've used both on some older Peavey and Ibanez basses that I removed the clear from (and all the dings). Tung feels better to me, and more like a Lakland, which feels like the vintage 60s basses I've had the pleasure to touch from time to time.... which feels like decades of human oil and dirt wearing through nitro lacquer.
I feel Tru Oil leaves a harder more durable finish behind, kind of like a poly satin finish.

Agree, Tru-oil is a nice finish too, a bit more solid/permanent than the beeswax/oil mix in Howard's.
I believed that Lakland used tru oil to finish their USA necks. I refinished my skyline neck with birch wood Casey tru oil and gun stock wax and got great results by taking off the clear coat.
