I picked this up here awhile back and it already had the neck with blocks and binding on it.. I finally got around to doing a few mods on it.. I had the headstock painted to match and changed out the pickups to Aguilars.. Not too crazy about the pickups and I may change them to some Nordstrand Blade pickups..

File this under “duh...”, but the lakland treble control is the most musical treble I’ve ever experienced on a bass guitar. You can dial in the right amount of definition, or “hi fi” sound if you keep pushing it, but at no point does it ever take over the sound of the bass, or push the tone over the edge in to “thin” territory.

Anyone knows where to get US JO/Glaub long shaft Hipshot tuners, or perhaps have one free set in a drawer? Thanks.
Just call Hipshot and speak to someone. Tell them you want the long stem reverse geared tuners that Lakland orders for their basses. He/she will know which ones and you’ll get a better price than list... if you ask nicely.

Just curious though: why do you say you need a Duck Dunn before saying you need a Decade or a Hollowbody?

Me, too - have them in a 2003 MIM Fender Jazz and they sound delicious. That said, I'm also a huge fan of the stock pickups in my Lakland.

They're going to build me another one, Lakland has been great. But I have to wait another couple of months.
