The new girl and the old boy ...

Thanks to TB I have had tjhe opportunity to try out several basses .. and while I now have 6 5ers ... I will most likely sell at least two of them.. I have found that for me .. these Laklands are the most comfortable to play.. Everything from body size, shape and weight to aesthetics (I love that rounded bridge) and ergonomics.. for me ... Laklands are the best.. Don't get me wrong ... I love my other basses, so much so that deciding what to sell would be hard... but if I had to narrow it down to just two basses it would be these two Laklands. I still want to get a U.S. one eventiually .. and truth be told .. if they ever came out with a MM/P config.. I would get one of those and be done ...

For some reason the first 55-02 I bought sounded thin to me.. and it just didn't feel right.. At the time I had a KZ5 and a KH5.. and the 55-01 and the 55-02.. I wound up selling the KZ and keeping the Heir and selling the 55-02 and keeping the 55-01 but over time the 55-01 became my go to .. I still have the Heir.. but it may be on the block with a few of my other basses because I am settling in on what I like and what works for me..

It’s my Carlo... built at Lākland by Carl Pedigo. When I asked John Pirrucelli if they’d make a dual P a production model, he said they didn’t need to since a customer can ask for whatever pickup configuration they want.

I’m friends on fb with a guy that got a 25th Anniversary 4-94 with P/J config.

Played White lightnin' at church today.. It was great!

I recently switched the in ears from the STD Shure SE215s we were using. They had a tendency to distort on the low bass notes ... Also... The mid-low end was muddy...and were not great at the overall mix ( at least not for me)

I had a set of Bose noise canceling buds sitting around ( bought them years ago to use when traveling but ended up not using them much)...WOW! what a significant difference.

Everything is Crystal clear... The lows are there and no distortion at all!

I can hear each instrument and vocal clearly.

I can also hear my mistakes more :)....

But it's all good... Or better yet.. FANTASTIC!

I hope my bass sounds as good in the mix at it does in my ears....

If you've played both, can I ask how the Dual P sounds compared to the PJ? I have a PJ but never heard or tried the Dual P. But I'm getting a bad case of HAS seeing this one. Lol.
