That bass is SUPER VERSATILE! It SPANKS! That is an excellent platform for something entirely different IMHO! To be continued! I might try that platform with my own twist. JJ the mad scientist has started something. That bass is contagious.Switches are now gone. I routed, drilled, and soldered the night away...
A desire to do away with the volume drop when switching from a single lipstick to both got me looking at fixes. If USPS will hurry up and deliver some knobs, pots, and battery boxes, I can finish what I started!
Yes sir! John did an awesome job on my strap. Will order another for my next bass.Gecko also makes some super awesome straps!![]()
I’ve read threads in the past where people swap out the preamp but keep the Barts. It’s a shame there are no before and after side by side videos. I’d love to hear the difference.
Wouldn’t be much of a comparison but I’d love to hear the fretless anyway.I could definitely try to do that, but it wouldn’t be an “identical” comparison as one is a lined fretless and has different strings.

Congratulations!! I also became a Lakie Papa today too! WooHooo!
Nice color beautiful quilted maple top. If it sounds as good as mine you have a great bass

For all you UK (and I guess EU, not quite sure how trade/shipping goes) Laklanders...
My problem too.Dangit. Can´t justify it.
Oh well.

Could be. If I remember correctly, Skylines are P only from Lakland. Any J pickup would be done by the owner, if my memory is correct.View attachment 4129719 That J pup is closer to the bridge than a Scheff J, which is a smidge closer than the typical 70s j location. So, that’s an odd placement! And is something weird about the pickguard? Look how much pickguard there is between the P and the bridge. Is that normal? Can’t be right? Are they covering a Wilkins J location route?
P pickup looks like it might be closer to the neck also. Pickguard could be hiding quite a lot of missing body wood.View attachment 4129719 That J pup is closer to the bridge than a Scheff J, which is a smidge closer than the typical 70s j location.
