I was playing my US Lakland 44-64 P bass and my Fender American Pro P bass this evening, comparing the two. While the Lakland is definitely higher quality, the Fender is more comfortable for my right (plucking) arm, because the body is more contoured at the forearm than the Lakland. I’m curious why Lakland doesn’t choose to have more of a contour there, like Fender. It makes a noticeable difference in comfort. Still, in comparing my two P basses, it’s clear that the Lakland is easily the better quality of the two.
