If memory serves me well… more oomph, higher output compared to normal J pickups, and they look kick-@55!!!

Question for the Lakland long-timers; what did the neck on the original 55-64 LOG bass look like? I’ve seen black blocks and binding and I’ve also seen pearl/white. Was the chosen neck an option?

I have a LOG 55-64 that a prior owner took the neck and used it on a different bass and replaced it with a dot maple neck. Looks good, plays fine but would like to get it back to its original look if at all possible. (The prior owner no longer has the bass with the LOG neck).

Original was black blocks on maple, and I believe binding too.

I also have brown wood knobs that go with the tort, and I'd be leaning tort' if the rosewood wasn't so dark that it looks closer to the trans black than brown. It plays and sounds spectacular. As expected, the neck is perfection and it balances sweetly even though it's chambered and just over 8 lbs. I knew I wanted a P to complement my other Lakie (54-JJ/ chi-sonics) but I had not heard the stock Lakland split coil pup before-it's reeeaaaaallly thick and growly. Do they wind these themselves or are they made for Lakland (by S. Duncan)???
