I will in a few weeks. It will be a bit of a mutt as I'm swapping a Lakland US P51 neck (aka the JJ black P51) on to the US 44-64 and putting the flame maple neck on another bass - long story. (See my avatar for the quilt maple with trans red paint.) PM me for more info.

Import Hipshot tuners with the powder gray finish (same as the Skyline basses) and no fancy wood tops, and no swamp ash.

Roseboard or maple cap on a 44-60 Classic? I know the tonal differences associated with the two. I have a maple cap US 44-54m and a LEH 5 on order (Alder/Rosewood board). I lean towards rosewood for the darker warmth in a J type but love the tone and feel of my maple 44-54. Just curious where the club lands on this.

I'd be interested in this. Last time I asked them they were going to make a skyline 55-64"gz" pj. I don't think I have seen it happen yet.

I love how you continue to modify your Hollowbody. I’ve still got a Sadowsky pre waiting on the shelf for mine.
That said, while I am not a fanboy of the Lakland bridge, I love how it looks on the long-scale Hollowbody. It’s like Mike Tobias designed the body around that bridge and it totally works, for me, visually.
Would love to hear a sound clip of your current bass compared to each of the standard (Bart & Chi-Sonic) basses, but know that would be difficult to put together.

It's def a work in progress. I need to try this out in practice this week. I played the Audere last week and its a definite improvement. Really gives a lot of control and the buffered blend is a game changer. I just never loved the Lakland bridge. Aesthetically didn't do it for me and felt too big.

Ooof... That is *exactly* what I was *really* looking for.

Ended up picking up a used 44-64GZ on reverb... and I was thinking of getting a black pearloid pickguard. Your pics confirm that idea.

It's the first time I've played a 4 for more than 5 minutes in probably 18 years. The thinner neck is cramping my fretting hand up a bit... too used to the extra lumber. I wish it were a bit more of a P neck , but I'm sure I'll acclimate... it's only been a few days.

Has anyone tried La Bella Low Tension Flats (LTF’s) on their 55-01? How did you find them?

I have those on virtually all the basses I own. Jazzes and Ps. I don’t happen to own a 55-01, but those Labella LTF strings are excellent flats for both tone and feel. I highly recommend them

It sounds good, that Bass Simplifier is a great tool, i like it on the 100hz setting.

That Simplifier looks anything but simple. Now you got me looking it up and watching YouTube videos. Btw, I have the same Keeley compressor. Great little unit. That's the only pedal I have. Always interesting to see what other bassists use. Thanks for sharing the photo.
