For people who ordered with the latest Musicians Friend 15% off or $100 off sale that ended 08/12/11. We can update latest news about things like if you were offered a different color to be shipped now, if MF cancelled your order (like someone was told could happen on backordered orders), etc. and then when we start getting them what manufactuted date they have.

I ordered mine on 8/12/11 and was told that it is backordered until 07/2012. Price paid including CA sales tax is $1,189.72. I just got off the phone with MF and asked about getting a jetglo or a mapleglo and the very friendly customer service rep told me that those were also backordered. The mapleglo is backordered until 6/2012 and the jetglo 07/2013.

In theory this sale was a great idea and god knows I would love a Ric 4003 someday, but i now foresee a lot of complaints and headaches over the enormous back orders and waiting time this has now caused. I've heard some people won't be getting their Ric's until 2013?!? Wow. I know I couldn't and wouldn't want to wait that long for any instrument unless it was being custom made with exact and precise dimensions and options of my choosing.

After getting the first one at $1300 (with the damaged case replaced with a vintage case for free), I could not resist ordering a second RIC for about $946 with the discounts.

I was expecting to wait until next year for delivery, but somehow they shipped the bass and it will arrive tomorrow!Ordered on 8/11/11 with confirmation email at 12:23 PM and item shipped email at 11:05 PM the same day.

I hope it isn't an old one with problems.

The vintage case arrives tomorrow as well. :hyper:

first, $946 is the lowest I've heard. I got almost $300 off the $1299. second. I don't care if I don't get mine until 7/12 because I heard the newer ones have thinner necks, and I'd be afraid MF might send out one of the returns to us.

I ordered mine only thru their website. First, I got the quote sent to my email, added it to my cart, put in the coupon code, and checked out. Here's the quote sent to my email. What's funny is later on I checked because I was considering buying a Les Paul that was already on Sale, and they didn't have the 15% off anything ove $600, they just had $100 off.
