LATEST MF MID BLUE RIC SALE

Back on topic, I'm having a little trouble supressing the GAS for a JG 4003 again.
Simply classic.

It's almost a shame that those adjustable pole pickups are so good, since Ric5 will be modding that puppy to a 5 string shortly.
That would be the only aspect I'd regret.

The new neck width and headstock size make it a very good candidate for a narrow-string-spaced 5er.

it is tuned DGCF (which it the BEST tuning for a 4 string Bass.
Spoken like the true 5 string deciple you admitted you are, but I completely disagree. In the extensive recording experience I've had the low E is completely adequet and any thing lower seems almost indiscernable.

I could not disagree more.

The small blemishes on the pickup cover polished off very easily.

The bass is so pretty I almost hate to play it.

I did a setup and got the action lower.

It could use a nice wax job with Zymol to really bring out the shine. I may put a black pickguard and a black TRC on the bass.

This isn't meant to be offensive, but have you had any issues with hearing in the lower frequencies? There are tons of top pros that have proven how discernible those low notes are by using them on countless recording for decades now. Anthony Jackson's modern discography alone heartily disproves it.

I hear the low E just fine and that is almost too low for songs. I hear lower notes fine too because some Bass players are taken in by this marketing gimmick or their guitarist drop tunes because it's easier to play lead, so I have to play them in a different octave because I tune traditionally. Just because the artist's, or studio's Bass player uses lower notes than E doesn't mean it's best for songs. Anything lower gets list in the mix. Like I said, zI have extensive recording experience and wgat I say is from that experience. People play Super High harmonics on Bass too, but that's just as much a gimmick also

If you think lower than E notes are a gimmick, then you simply are very uneducated and inexperienced with music, no matter how much you've gigged/recorded. Forget the complete legitimacy and usefulness of it on a bass- it's been used frequently and with taste on many instruments for HUNDREDS of years and in every style of music.

You simply have no idea what you are talking about.

Back to Rics, please. I have abstained from this subject since the last thread got closed, because for some reason discussing new Rics always turns into a ****-waving contest.

My last post on the subject was about my cracked hard case. My replacement showed up on time; it's a nice vintage-style hard case.

MF said on the phone they would notate for the shipping team to make sure it got extra padding, but it came packaged only in the cardboard box from the Ric factory. Fortunately it is undamaged. I think I can use the cracked case for another bass if it fits.

Must be a "money frets" guy.

First. It's diffrrent when used in the context og chords so admit it clown. You are probably some no talent musical noob. If not. Link me to something.

Noob, not even close.

No talent, very likely.

Clown- call someone else on this forum that again, and you'll be getting infractions.

Links- for everyone to see in my signature.

Relevance- none. Musical facts and history has nothing to do with my playing, and it listening to it won't change that. You can have the opinion that the moon is made of cheese- that opinion means nothing in the face of the fact that it's not. Your opinion on notes lower than E1 is pretty equatable to that analogy.
