You know, you'd think it. But not only do I not get any breaks, I just ordered two new configurations and Don said "call the office, place your deposit and we'll add you to the bottom of the list - first come, first served!" :crying:

Another configuration? I was going to ask the silly question of why two 1x8's and then a 2x8 (if they sound the same) but . . .

I can only think of one word . . . Therapy! :)

And I now own 3x as many EA cabs! :D

I wish I could blame Tom, but no, that's me. It all started a long time ago...

Actually, I can blame Acoustic Image. I was living through ContraGate, or more appropriately, CodaGate, :smug: you know, where you love the sound but can't get enough gain? My bandmates were always after me for more volume, so I had the idea of running a spread of two Coda cabinets, one for me and one for them.

Of course, when I changed to AI as heads only coupled with any of the great small cabs out there, that problem was over and I only needed one cab.

The other excuse I made up was that I figured 2 light cabs would be easier to carry to some gigs than 1 bigger one. That doesn't hold water either as the 2x8 is fairly easy to bring around. This doesn't mean I'll be selling anything off any time soon. It does mean that I'm selling lots of other stuff though!

The other configurations I'm after are not 1x8 or 2x8 by the way.

I think if you hit the archives, macmrkt did individual comparisons of LDS to both EA and ACME.

Hey,
I have two of the original EA VL 108's and at the time
I purchased them they listed for (I think) around $500.00
each. Now that's not what I actually payed for them but
the LDS neo's are lighter and cost less then the EA's did.
I tried stacking them but feedback became a problem
for some reason I can't remember. I think I'll turn
of the tweeter in the bottom cabinet of the stack
and try it agian.

seems to me I've seen an EA cabnet recently that just had the 2 neo 8's and thats it. Real compact and small. Is there such a thing? I am looking for the smallest monitor/small gig package I can find, and if there were a 2x8in cabnet with these light drivers and light plywood, (that sounded really good) I'd be in heaven...
any pics anyone?

I might have missed it...but what is the power handling capacity of the 4 ohm (2x8) cabinet? I'm getting a db down the road and I need something that would be light and handle double duty. This LDS might fit the bill. (Gotta see if I can unload the 4x10 Eden over of the BG side)

I have a preliminary review of my new LDS 3x8 Neo cab over in the amps section in the Bass Guitar forum. I'm not a DB player, but thought some of you guys might still benefit from some info on these cabs :)

No, I ordered it two weeks ago today...

They called me beginning of this week to confirm some last details, so I'm hoping Don is already working on putting my cab together. Hopefully I will receive it next week and post pictures so that all of you (with the exception of macmrkt) will be envious.
