Now they have gone back to the 4-screw bridge because people didn't like the looks of the 6-screw version in your photo. I'll cut Rick some slack on that, they have a customer base that wants all the old detailing enshrined for eternity. I still think this could be upgraded with adjustable saddles and remain nearly identical in appearance, but if people are willing to put up with a substandard bridge design because it looks cool, Rick has no incentive to invest in new tooling or casting.

Thanks, I like it too. I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like with a black fretboard. Completely blacked out is cool, but it's also nice to have an outline (binding) and the splash of chrome.

Stew-Mac sells something called Black Fingerboard Stain/ebony in a bottle (Fiebing's LeatherColor) for making ebony uniformly black, but "ebonizes" other woods too. (4 oz - $7.10) It is stated to be "environmentally friendly" but doesn't list the base. They also sell Colortone liquid stains in black: (2 oz - $20.69) It is alcohol based and can be mixed w/lacquer, shellac, waterbase or catalyzed finishes, but also used on bare wood. You could strip/sand the fretboard finish on your Jetglow (not easy but possible) and carefully paint the stain around the triangular markers etc to "ebonize" it.

I'm ordering the Fiebings LC to blacken out an Epi T-bird Goth fb. (w/only a "XII" inlay on the fb) I'll post pics when it's done so you can see what it looks like.

Like orig/reverse T-birds, people (like me, a vintage T-bird owner) put-up w/bad design because of time honored bad-ass R&R looks (and sound of course). But after owning a Ric, I would like to try the "badly drawn cartoon" Lanzi Mk1.

How deep was the route for the trem? 3/4 inch is what I think I read earlier.

Like orig/reverse T-birds, people (like me, a vintage T-bird owner) put-up w/bad design because of time honored bad-ass R&R looks (and sound of course). But after owning a Ric, I would like to try the "badly drawn cartoon" Lanzi Mk1.

Under the lower portion of the bridge, the install template calls for a 1" deep rout. Toward the front, it's a 3/4" depth.
